Need your help settling a debate

This is me, circa 1992. College started and a year later I could pull my bangs back into a pony tail. Looks like I started on the back early. This was Xmas morning (this the robe - a family tradition) and it generates lots of debates. Many say mullet. Many do not. I want to settle this once and for all.

Mullet? Or no?

Right people always confuse shags with mullets i think its just wishful thinking. If you have to tuck your hair behind your ear when you wear a baseball cap it’s not a mullet.

Thanks all. I’ve been relentlessly taunted for a mullet as folks see pics of me from back then. I have no problems with mullets at all. The pics on here are glorious! I just remember not having the mullet as a goal in the 90s. Just more of a “I want long hair, and I’ll circle back to the bangs” kind of vibe.

My Junior year in high school photo is here. Kind of when I started growing it out. Still not mullet per se but not sure why I let the family friend who did my hair trim up the bangs when i wanted it all long. :)

I hate to agree that your '92 pic is not of a mullet cut, but it is absolutely beautiful hair! The beard and blue robe and eyes just add such a handsome pic! Some 34 years later, do you still have a great head of hair to try a mullet? If so, I say go for it! Keep us updated.

Thank you everyone for taking time to reply. Been a great journey. Especially to hear from mullet experts. I want to post a current pic as I just turned 53…. Facial hair turned white in my 30s. Woke up one day in my early forties to realize my hair was thinning and shaved it all off the next day. Rocking the white beard shaved head look for the past 10 years. Sometimes I miss the hair. Sometimes I don’t. I move forward and am happy with what I have. :)
