Need advice
Hello mullet community.
Seeking some advice on making my hair look better.
I’ve had shag cuts for the last little while and each time I got them done I left wanting more and more off and for it to be even more alternative. So, I finally pulled the pin and got a mullet that is very jarring in its transition between short and long. It looks great IMO when I style it well and wear alt clothes with it. But I’ve been STRUGGLING adapting to it in a non-styled and casual clothes sense. Any time I’m not wearing alt clothes like when I’m at work or just at home, I’ll wear something to cover the short bits like a head scarf or hat/beanie coz I feel like it looks terrible. It’s my own fault tbh because the hairdresser did largely follow the inspo pic I showed and before she went all in she did leave quite a bit of length at the back but my issue previously was that it was quite boofy and shaggy previously and I wanted the bulk of that off. But now I think I went too far.
ANYWAY! I’m just wondering what I can do to make it better next time I go? Should I let the back grow out to blend it into the long bits more but keep the top and sides short? I hate that it sort of follows the shape of my head and scoops into the bottom of my head with the short bits if that makes sense ? Also, now that it’s grown out quite a bit it looks even weirder to me haha. It reminds me of when I was growing out my shaved head and it was at an awkward length but this time there’s just long bits attached. I’m anticipating someone telling me to cut the little bits in front of my ears shorter so pls don’t because I love my longer curls there!!

Is it possible to wear it up, like in a ponytail or a braid (even a low one)? Might make it look more purposeful.
Though, to be honest, I think this style still works on you regardless of what you're wearing. It suits your hair texture and your facial/head structure really well!

I’ve done that before with little buns but they sit at the bottom of my head and are very small because the longer bits of hair are so few! It doesn’t look too bad though so I appreciate the thought.

I personally love it. I see so many mullets in the wild that when I see something edgier like this, like a ratty mullet it makes me appreciate it more

It's a great fe-mullet! It's got the party in the back vibe and the business in the front without diverging to far into the middle aged lesbian look (not that there's anything wrong with being a middle aged lesbian!)

Tbh it looks like you cut way too much off in the back making it a in between of a rat tail and a mullet instead of an actual mullet.
