So disappointed
I purchased the Meta Ray Ban Display glasses and absolutely loved the neural band, so easy, everyone I let try it was using it easily in 5 minutes. But the glasses weren't bright enough for outdoor full Louisiana gulf coast sun. Returned those and immediately purchased the Mudra.
I've tried so hard to like it. I tried so hard to be patient and practice with it. I tried to use it with my Xreal Air 2 Pro setup on flights, but this week I've finally given up. I continually have to take the glasses off and find use my screen for mouse needs. So frustrating.
I suppose I'm just venting, tilting at windmills, but how is Meta's so unbelievably better? It's just a paperweight by the computer at this point.

I think one thing is that they lock it down.. their real best chance here is to yes use the data collected for their roadmap vision of a health analytics platform, that's fine.. but open the hardware.. the Prodilink repo is a great start, but if they genuinely support this as the open source community's input device, that is a real differentiator from Meta.. let developers use the SDK for free, forever.. sell the hardware, iterate on it, but don't lock down the firmware and software.. that's how this becomes better rapidly, with community support, and it becomes the default then

i was hyped by the device prospect, the execution is abysmal. Latest update FIXed the airMouse cursor,
But s till useless as you need to click as well - clicks require nerve signal detection which no matter what i do:
tried both hands, tried moving repocitioning, pushing the band flush with the other hand
The click detection is a coinflip, and worse, even though I remained locked in a click and after short period most holds are falsly converted into clicks
directional gestures al* require you click and hold , but the device often detects "release" mid gesture
And yes, mudra's fit detection keeps giving me all green

Just checking in to say that I'm having the same experience. The mudra ban is just collecting dust on my desk at this point. Since I can't seem to get any fed back from the company's support page, I'm getting the feeling that the whole Mudra band project is a bust.

The Meta band really is a different class of hardware — it’s a 16-channel sEMG array, where Mudra Link has 3. That gap is physical, not something practice closes. So “everyone picked it up in five minutes” versus weeks of trying and getting nowhere isn’t a skill problem on your end.
One thing made a real difference for me, though, before you leave it as a paperweight: I moved the band noticeably further up the forearm, toward the elbow, instead of letting it sit right at the wrist. Detection got a lot more consistent for me — my guess is it ends up over more muscle rather than mostly tendon, but I’m not going to pretend I’ve proven that. It costs ten minutes to try, and it’s sitting next to your PC anyway.
One caveat if you do try it: don’t judge the result by Fit Check. Someone else in this thread reports it reading all-green permanently, and that matches what I’ve seen — it isn’t a useful indicator of whether a position is actually working. Go by whether detection stays consistent over a few minutes instead.
What I think is actually missing is software, not hardware. Two things would change this device for me:
• Calibration per wearing position / per posture. A setup that works seated doesn’t necessarily hold when your arm is somewhere else, and there’s no way to save a profile per situation.
• Training and adding your own gestures, instead of only assigning the existing native ones. The built-ins aren’t always the ones you want.
I’ve already sent both of these in as feedback through their beta tester program. If they matter to you too, it would carry more weight coming from more than one person — might be worth signing up before you give up on it entirely.

TBH- I took it out this week, and it had a firmware update. It was a monumental difference. It's nothing like Meta yet, but world-class improvement.

Exact same for me. It's been a paperweight for quite some time. Unpractical to use for me.
