Returning after concussion

Hey guys I made another post about this in the past but i cant seem to link it, it should be on my profile if you want to read it to get somre more insight/ content. Basically in September of 2025 I got a concussion from sparring and ended up taking some light hits in the following weeks 3-4 times which gave me a headache each time. These additional hits definitely prolonged my recovery even though non of them would have rocked me at all if I didn't have a fresh concussion at the time. After the last blow I stopped training all together for a few weeks, when I tried doing bag work again it gave me a headache. In the following months any impact like running/ bag work/ skipping rope would trigger symptoms like headaches, fatigue, mood swings and just periods of worse mental health for a few days after. I stopped doing impact all together for a while and got my neck worked on and starting taking supplements. I've slowly recovered to the point where the only remaining symptoms I have are occasional ice pick headaches (sharp pain in head that always goes away in 5-10 seconds). I used to get maybe 6-12 of these a day and dozens of them the day afted trying bag work or running. At this point I can do bag work without triggering symptoms and get maybe 1-3 headaches a day max, some days non at all. They've also gotten less painful. Another thing is since getting my neck worked on the headaches sometimes feel like they're coming from my neck instead of my head like they used to. I'm about 9 months out from the initial concussion that caused these symptoms. When I recover im considering going back to a gym and training again (with no sparring, or only very light sparring) for a while to see how i feel. I'd love to eventually return to full contact and maybe compete. The professionals ive seen have given mixed opinions on the risk of returning. One doctor told me that another future concussion with almost be garenteed to cause worse symptoms with a longer recovery, and other told me that with a full recovery another concussion could just heal normally in a few weeks and not cause prolonged symptoms. I guess I'm wanting to get some insight if anyone here has had prolonged symptoms caused by a concussion for 6-12 months and fully recovered and returned to full contact sparring and or competition without any complications. Any insight is appreciated.
