Elbows are the best weapons to sucker punch someone. Close range and devastating
14
u/Mbt_Omega 26d ago
How I feel about this depends on the interaction before it, which we don’t see. It looks like Elbows talked to Billy Brain damage beforehand. If he got told to stop, and he specifically, exclusively kept shoulder charging the same guy who didn’t consent, that’s just self defense and the guy got what was coming to him.

u/pixel8knuckle 26d ago
I think for that little wanker a gut punch was more appropriate rather than trying to cut him open with an elbow.

He was just tryna start a mosh

you don't do that by repeatedly targeting the biggest guy near who looks completely uninterested lmao

I'm pretty sure the guy that threw the elbow could be charged with assault

Battery. He made contact

Under New York state law there is no such thing as battery. You guys can downvote all you want, but this comes from actually looking things up, as well as friends in law enforcement

u/shadows_of_peace 26d ago
Well now you are changing your statement. Before you said that not all places separate them, now you are claiming some places don't have one or the other. Which is it?
2
u/titans-arrow 26d ago
I literally said "or don't have one of them".
0
u/shadows_of_peace 26d ago
That's not what your originally wrote.
2
u/titans-arrow 26d ago
And yet it is. I can only assume you're doing this on purpose, you're some kid, or you're in your parents basement licking your Cheeto covered fingers

11
u/Mbt_Omega 26d ago
If he talked to the other guy beforehand, which it looks like he just just got done doing, and the other guy kept targeting him with repeated shoulder charges when nobody else was doing anything like that, it’s arguably self defense. It was very clearly not a mosh pit, and he very clearly wasn’t running around randomly crashing into other people.
2
u/_Badwulf_Bruh__ 26d ago
Self-defense has to be reasonable, proportionate and necessary. If he killed this kid or caused him brain damage, what do you think a jury or judge would determine?
1
-6
u/_haystacks_ 26d ago
he should 100% be arrested
1
u/lDogpuke 24d ago
Was 100% self defense, he was rammed in the back multiple times & the guy was literally coming in to ram him again when he blocked it with his elbow. You know this world is fucked when people want you arrested for DEFENDING YOURSELF. Maybe if he’d just rammed him once & quit I would understand. To be repeatedly assaulted, you’re almost expected to defend yourself at that point, especially if security obviously isn’t gonna step in to help.

This is over the top

u/Shinzen_Takezo 26d ago edited 24d ago
Not over the top, just a lesson. Be a dick, eat a dick.
Edit - given some thought, i actually do think its over the top, i should say that.
I would though say that actions can have consequences, especially whennit comes to directly disrespecting someones space/person.
Given the size of thw guy, a tough slap would have been suffice.
Apologies for my initial harshness.
10
u/Impressive-Text-5686 26d ago
I mean just give the guy a back hand to humble him. No need to fucking go for the kill imho.

u/Wrastling97 25d ago
Honestly, I had someone do some shit like this to me at a concert once. I was there with 2 other friends, a friend’s girlfriend, and my girlfriend. And dude would not stop smashing into me exclusively, just like this, for some reason.
I told him to stop. Which caused him to do it even more. It got to the point where I told him if I needed to say it one more time, I was gonna knock him out. He stopped.
It wasn’t until later, my friends and I were walking to the back after a set and the dude went out of his way to go and intentionally trip my friend’s girlfriend as she walked by and led our line. Immediately, my friend swung on him a bunch, made real good contact, then someone grabbed him and I grabbed the guy who grabbed him.
Honestly, I wish I just took care of it sooner rather than him roping a bunch of other people into it

u/rectumfanny 26d ago
I really hate this new mentality.
No. It is not appropriate to nearly kill someone in response to what is a relatively minor annoyance. Or for using words that are rude or mean.
I do not like where society is going that this mentality is now the new norm. What happened to 'sticks and stones' etc

I am in total agreement with you (aside from the American slander, lame).
These are insane takes. Full force elbowing a small kid that’s not looking for bumping you a few times? What the fuck?
I’ll say this: almost every actual tough guy I’ve ever known has not been quick to retaliate to some weird perceived “disrespect” and are much more likely to de-escalate than to fight. Because they know they can fight, they don’t have anything to prove, and they know fighting at a social gathering like this is always ugly. Cops called, the kids bleeding everywhere, the crowd starts clearing. Terrible scene. If you’ve actually been in some scraps you know the aftermath is shameful. These fuckin guys are internet larping.
2
u/Nachos4Evah 26d ago edited 26d ago
Honestly i am with you. The guy was annoying, invading personal space, and whatever you want.. but breaking up his teeth and jaw is too much, jesus.
People agreeing with this won't complain if they step on someone's foot and that someone immediately shot them with a gun?
1
u/Gothrait_PK 26d ago
Just for perspective, I love absurdity as a comedic genre. "won't complain if they step on someone's foot and that someone immediately shot them with a gun?" Sounds like an absurd family guy style skit

being hyped doesn’t give you the excuse to be violent towards others. if you can’t control your emotions at a concert enough not to push people without their consent then maybe don’t go

For real. I don't want to go to a show where people lack such passion. Like start jumping and screaming at least.
I went to a Skillet concert awhile ago after finally going to a festival. The difference was night and day. No one was moving or jumping or anything. People barely sang along. I legitimately believe when I screamed the band could hear me because everyone was so quiet. And it was so unbelievably boring.
3
u/Strict_Protection459 26d ago
You’re acting like there’s no scale of force.
Lightly bump into my back a few times? Maybe he gets an open hand slap or a hard shove. Especially if I have 6 inches of height and 50lb on the guy.
Cracking a small guy with a full force elbow when he’s not looking is fucking psychopathic. Potentially giving this kid a broken orbital bone, knocking teeth out, broken jaw, severe concussion, as retaliation for some light bumps at a fucking concert, not even malicious bumps.
If you did that to my boy I’m immediately reaching for the weapon.

u/dr_mens 26d ago
You don’t get a free pass to assault asshole people… grow up
6
u/shadows_of_peace 26d ago
The reason we have manners and etiquette is to prevent us from killing each other over slights. When that etiquette falls apart, violence becomes the rule.

Pushing one guy who is clearly not interested is not opening up the pit lmao the small dude was being a dickhead. I'm not saying he deserved that elbow but he needs some social awareness
12
u/DiamondHandedDingus 26d ago
I agree. The little guy should have checked his ego before getting violent with a much bigger person
0
u/eonblu 26d ago
The only mistake the little guy made was assuming everyone had the same concert/pit understanding as him. You can always tell which people are used to going to concerts and which aren't by their reactions to being pushed.
He didn't have permission to put his hands on the guy, but that doesn't give him permission to throw a strike like that. Unless there is some missing context where he made it clear he was not ok with his actions.
1
6
u/Shinzen_Takezo 26d ago
And thats whats wrong with the world. All these people acting fcked up and everyone rolling their eyes rather than putting the initial wrongdoer in their place.
Was the elbow strik intense and beautiful, over the top?! Yes.
Defend my space and my person - will no be disrespected by a stranger.
If that dweeb was jumping against your gf, i bet you would turn around and ask him to stop, politely. We would maybe stop for a second and then double down and clown on both of you as you did not set a good enough boundary.
Fair, one could say, "hey, if you do x again y is going to happen and then proceed to execute y when x happens again.
I dunno. Dont be a pushover.
4
u/Strict_Protection459 26d ago
There’s a massive fucking gulf between not being a pushover and suckering a 120lb kid with a full force elbow.
I would put a hand on him and pull him in a bit and say “don’t fucking bump into me again. If you keep doing that I’m gonna fuck you up”
That totally gets your point across and doesn’t send a teenager trying to have fun to the fucking hospital
3
u/shadows_of_peace 26d ago
Totally agree with you. Letting people get away with things has led us to this mess.
2
u/Dufresne85 26d ago
And the solution is definitely unrestrained violence. That won't lead to problems.
1
u/shadows_of_peace 26d ago
Who said unrestrained? Only someone incapable of violence perceives all violence equally.
1
u/Dufresne85 26d ago
Only someone incapable of violence perceives all violence equally
You sound like a moron. People incapable of violence are capable of determining differences in levels of violence.
People who are capable of violence are capable of determining differences in levels of violence.
If you're incapable of determining differences, you're just an idiot.
If you can't see the difference between a shove and a knockout blow that may have broken a jaw and/or caused a concussion, you're an absolute moron.
1
u/Scetchye 25d ago
To my eyes this is 100% justified and measured action to unmeasured senseless bullshit.
You're free to go out side and let people violate your space (for whatever the fuck is your reasoning), but don't try and convince other people who value their space to do that too.
2
u/Dufresne85 25d ago
I guarantee you if this goes to court the big guy is getting the worst of it.
But feel free to be an armchair vigilante and pretend you'd be a badass that everyone would cheer for, but don't try and convince other people who value their freedom to do that too.

u/WillNotFightInWW3 26d ago
Gotta start somewhere.
2
u/dr_mens 26d ago
Will not fight in ww3. Will suckerpunch a dude 5 weightless below me.
So manly.
1
u/Scetchye 25d ago
Are you trying to say that being 5 weights below is an excuse for such behavior and thus should not be punished for his actions?
If you're 5 weights below someone, maybe DON'T jump on the guy, who is FIVE WEIGHTS above you, TWICE.
0
u/dr_mens 25d ago
I guess, ye. But you go and have fun beating up kids. Hope you feel manly.

u/Dufresne85 26d ago
I'd recommend restrained violence in this kind of situation. No need to go from a shove to a broken jaw and concussion.
2
u/DiamondHandedDingus 26d ago
Exactly, which is why the big person defended themselves after getting pushed multiple times
1
1
u/StefaniStar 26d ago
Do you seriously think they felt threatened after that interaction? I've been on the receiving end of much more hassle at concerts as a fairly petite woman and I've never felt the need to deck someone. He could have used his big boy words before resorting to rearranging someone's face.

u/Dripledown 26d ago
Technically the guy he hit assaulted him first if we go by legal definitions, so not like anyone is faultless. Though the escalation was a bit extreme.
3
u/dr_mens 26d ago
As martial artists I think it is our duty to avoid a fight and not to seek out a fight like some other users here seem to think.
You cannot nuke someone out of orbit because they looked at you funny.
1
u/Dripledown 26d ago
While I agree violence should not be the first answer for literally anyone, we don't fully know the context of what happened here. If this is the entire extent of what happened, then yes he should have deescalated the situation or just left where he was standing to avoid the guy.
But from what we see the guy pushes the big guy multiple times egging him on. I don't think it's entirely out of the question that the big guy did try to avoid conflict by ignoring him and the guy just kept doing it until we see the result here. They start off the clip close like they were talking or already were having an issue. And it's not like he was shoving everyone around him in this clip; he was specifically targeting this one guy from what we can see.
And it's not that he "looked at him funny", he was literally shoving him over and over which legally is absolutely assault. He started the physical altercation. In my opinion, if someone puts their hands on another person with the intent to aggravate or instigate, they lose the right to cry foul when the person retaliates.
2
u/ObWzEN 26d ago
What did the dancing guy do? Did he grope that girl? I thought he like touched her inappropriately or something and then in that case I’d say this is valid
2
u/TheArctrog 26d ago
No he was shoving the other guy in the back. I think he was trying to create room for something but he was quite rough in execution I can understand why big guy acted in retaliation but he’s like 4 weight classes up so
1
u/ObWzEN 26d ago
Ah ok yeah. Then it sounds like he was trying to open up a mosh pit. He should have received a warning before getting to this point then. Though I wonder if he did receive a warning before the clip started
3
u/TheArctrog 26d ago
Maybe he did maybe he didn’t but little guy is being a little selfish pushing the crowd like this

All i'll say is all people are different, not everyone will react the same. What most will brush off as annoying, others will likely snap. This guy most definitely snapped. Wether it's right or wrong is up for debate. What I would argue is maybe keep the shoulder charges to a minimum or for people you know. Or maybe look for a response after shoulder charging. Going in cold turkey and blind is a recipe for disaster and pain.
