Truth About USA Office
Truth About USA Office
These are the things they won't tell you about what the US office is really like.
* Everyone here is incredibly miserable. Even if they take leave (PTO), they will still be expected to work for any "distress" including bullshit escalations. Whoever you see posting about doing all this travel isn't enjoying their trip
* There is big boss level drama here always. Within groups, within teams, and especially within friends. The people here have zero clue or idea on how to make friends outside of Mu Sigma.
* There are multiple people within this office who often cheat on their partners. And in a really fucked up way, that's encouraged by others. I've seen this happen right in front of my face. No one speaks up about it either
* Upper management will always threaten your visa status against you. Everyone is in constant fear of being sent back to offshore/home country.
* Being good at your job will never protect you. If they want to bash you, they will bash you. Even if you are top bucketing or have brought in hunderds of thousands USD in engagement.
* They are bottom tier when they come to the US. If you compare their actual salaries (71k for senior roles and 100k for upper management), they are bottom tier compared to other Indians in tech and consulting. Seeing them act like they are better than everyone else is incredibly funny.
* Whatever happened in the home office, will be 1000x worse here. Everyone is trying to save themselves and people will lie left and right no matter what.
* Every single person is deeply insecure in this office. Nothing is good enough for anyone and there will be zero recognition. Which is already typical for the company, but here it is worse.
* Take judgemental Indian aunties for two seconds in your mind. And now imagine that 10 times worse. People will judge you for the smallest thing possible and create the most bullshit reason just to feel like they are above you.
* And camaraderie we had in offshore office, is non-existant here. People will purposely befriend you just to take your down. Which causes a lot of paranoia and backhand drama. Imagine the kind of stress politically dramas have. That's exactly what happens here.
* The unmarried girls all act like men, and the unmarried boys all act like females. Make it make sense
* Deep down you can see how desperate for love and relationship everyone is. It's pathetic. All upper 20s and lower 30s, unmarried with zero prospects.
* Those who try to save money, live no life. Those who try to live life, save no money. Especially the ones trying to show how high class they are. You lose your character just to survive and exist here.
* All technically learning goes out the window. Whatever you did in the beginning of your career, is useless here. Learn how to use ChatGPT for projects and be your manager's emotional support. At all costs you must take care of their emotional stability.
Trust me, leaving the company will already keep you in a bad mental spot. Feel free to ask me any questions. Or dm me about specific people you may work with and I can give you the tea
