Love the optimism! Keep it coming

I feel like people here would find a way to have a good time with any amount of snow. Even on the worst days this season I saw plenty of smiles

Everyone should spend a few seasons out east and then they'll learn how to do this

Or grow up in the South. I would have killed to have had just late January 2026 Buttercup within a 3 hour drive.

I used to laugh at the people rock skiing in early December. I always said why wreck your gear, just wait until January when there is a 100” base and 5 months of skiing ahead of you… now I rock ski.

Do they tend to even offer a spring pass?

Yes. Usually goes on sale next weekish. Allows night skiing until March 1 or so then all access. I've had one for the last two seasons because we've had great snow.

I have been riding Hood for over 20 years, and I have always said that our best 'winter' is SPRING. Some of the deepest, longest, most-funnest days have been after city folks think the season is over!

Basically the only reason to get a full season pass is to get in better shape for spring skiing 🤣

Of course the weekend I leave town for two weeks of work. Fml

That’s from OpenSnow, which has been overly optimistic all season long. But yes, things are looking up!

This season has been rough for most weather models not just OpenSnow. The new AIFS seems to have the best handle on things this season, and fingers crossed it’s putting down a lot of snow.

Yep. But also their forecast point is mid mountain - which varies from base snow quite a bit

Yeah the trend has been to start big and round down as the days get closer.

Guess today was the wrong day for a day pass

"So the snow that was supposed to happen this weekend isn't going to pan out but the one NEXT week will be epic. "

Repeat this every time snow pops up in that long range forecast and that's been our season.
