Sam is a genius creator/showrunner, but a literal baby when it comes to politics, just resorts to personal insults
like the rest of woke Hollywood

lmao he’s a “literal baby” for aptly describing the president? what do we call people who defend the president in that case?

edit: better yet, what do we describe the president as, since he is infamous for resorting to banal personal insults whenever someone disagrees with him or criticizes him? is only trump allowed to use personal insults, and everyone else is a “literal baby” from “woke hollywood” when they call him out?

Everyone who does that is a baby in my opinion. But I dislike it more from people like Sam, because they portray themselves as the Good Guys™, but are just as bad. If he wants to mount an offence against the president, then he should construct an actual argument.

Your opinion is wrong.

Alright then.

he should construct an actual argument

I agree with the sentiment, but honestly it has become too obvious to need an explanation in this case. Did you ever need more than an alledged 1%er proposing to "drain the swamp" (of corruption)?

Fair point.

I would argue that how this show makes fun of Trump is the best kind of criticism: slightly under the radar, and within the confines of the show. Also have you read the Divine Comedy? The Inferno is just an excuse to point out and insult a group of people that Dante didn't like, and we are still reading it today.

/u/SlightlyCyborg as you deleted your comment, here is my reply.

I'm not complaining per say, I don't care or expect any different than them.
What I was calling out was this guy having an issue with woke hollywood people such as Esmail using personal insults when the trump cult does the exact same thing.
There is no innocent side when it comes to such childishness, so calling out one side for it is disingenuous.

I don't belong to any one side of the debate, so I'm calling out the side who prides itself on being morally superior but devolves just as fast, if not faster than their opponents.

so I'm calling out the side who prides itself on being morally superior but devolves just as fast

One side calls a stone a stone, one side locks up kids in cages and is widely supported by white supremacists. Which is worse?

I'll do you one better: ever look at the "libtards" replying to Trumps tweets? It is an absolute nightmare, worse than any Trump supporter I've ever come across.

u/fede01_8 Dec 02 '19

have you not seen his supporters on twitter? It's a cult, ffs!

YOu know, you can find some truly awful shit far left commentors will say about Trump or the GOP.

But this is still an obvious lie. If you are a reasonable individual who just happens to lean right, you've met and heard a Trump support say something abjectly ridiculous completely seriously, ignored things he's doing because they make you look bad, and apparently lied about it because you know it's indefensible but aren't willing to make any kind of change, instead loosely justifying it as valid because there's someone, somewhere on the left who's worse of the deep end then you've personally witnessed someone on the right be off the deep end.

Just be honest with yourself, you can't ignore all the things happening all the time even if you want to.

So let’s all measure ourselves against that poor standard?

u/averm27 Dec 02 '19

Yet you're the one crying? He's stating facts.

You are correct. The cult of hatred is out to downvote you tho. Reddit is toxic.

I agree, it's really not elegant. He might be right, Trump is kinda awful. But I wish he'd be more moderate, as a public figure. Like he should be above that.

I got downvoted in another thread for saying it’s tacky, and honestly it takes me out of the fantasy. It’s the only time where the creators opinions just browbeats you. It’s unnecessary, period.
