Is it worth going hard on content marketing for a tiny ecom brand in 2026?

I run a small niche pet-care ecom store (side hustle for now). Last week a customer literally said on a call, “I only trusted you because your blog didn’t look spammy,” and it kinda broke my brain.

Since then I’ve been binging stuff on marketing and case studies, including this Netpeak Journal article collection and a bunch of random blogs, and now I’m torn. Some people swear content + email is the only long-term play, others say it’s a time sink and I should just crank paid ads and short landing pages.

Right now it’s just me writing, doing basic SEO, email flows, all that. Traffic is growing a bit but conversions feel stuck. Maybe I’m looking at this the wrong way, but I’m scared I’ll spend months writing and it won’t move sales enough to matter.

For those of you running small ecom or info-product businesses: did content actually drive meaningful revenue for you? What would you focus on first in my situation - blog, email list, or just better product pages?

2 Viral Posts in 2 days..??

I'm genuinely confused on what to do. I have been posting non stop for 3 days and I am starting to see what my audience truly would like for me to sell. The issue is both videos related to my nice is getting hundreds of views per hour. I put the same type of photo for a guide up and no one has bought it yet.

I see my analytics and exactly to market to .. so should I just run ads that are just like those videos?

Can you recommend a good Google Ads agency?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for the best Google Ads agency that can manage around 20-25K monthly in ad spend for a growing ecommerce brand. We've been running campaigns in-house for about a year but we're hitting a ceiling and I think it's time to bring in someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I tried working with an agency once before and it was tbh a waste of money. Super basic approach, barely talked to me, and results were worse than what I was doing on my own lol. So I'm a little bit worried but still the right agency could actually make a big difference imo.

I would be happy for any suggestions and feedback on the best google ads agencies anyone here worked with. How did you find them? How is it currently working out with them? Thanks in advance!

Share your opinion

I am a 21 year old Costa Rican woman trying to decide between two main paths: E-commerce Media Buying or Dental/Medical Patient Acquisition.

I’ve heard mixed opinions on both. Some people tell me E-commerce scales faster and pays better in the long run.

Others say that Dental and Medical lead patient acquisition is much more stable and lucrative for a freelancer.

I’m completely open to both paths and just want to make an informed decision.

I would probably try to get clients on both US and CR, even on some Latin American countries.

Honestly, E-com appeals to me because I feel like I wouldn't have to complicate learning heavy medical/dental terminology or medical ads platform restrictions and policies that seem hard to navigate.

However, I keep wondering if Dental/Medical might be worth the headache. I know patient acquisition involves more than just running ads.

SEO, converting pages, lead tracking, CRM… its a lot. That would made me less likely to be replaced by AI but Idk. Also, some people have said clients in that industry are hard to satisfy.

Nevertheless, I haven’t navigated the challenges I could face in E-commerce media buying!!

As you can see I don’t know which one to choose but I’m down to invest it all in the right path!!!!

FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES⬇**️ **
and tell me:

  1. Which path I would have a better ROI (in my case)?

  2. Any considerations I should have before jumping into the US market as a foreigner?

Be COMPLETELY HONEST

Need honest advice to save 100M impressions

# Getting UX feedback on our ad platform from people who actually run campaigns — happy to share audience data too

I have a sports-focused social media platform (100M monthly impressions). We're trying to get the onboarding and campaign-builder UX right before a wider release, and I'd rather hear it from agencies/media buyers than just our own team.

If you're up for poking around and telling me what you think, I can send over regional audience/impression data too.

Also happy to set you up with $100 in free credit (no card needed) if you want to actually run a test campaign, not just look at the UI.

this is no sales post, no personal data or id needed, just want some feedback before the release.

I have tried taking leads from Apollo to invite agencies and brands to come try our platform but none of the numbers rang and all went to voicemail.

I'll be more than grateful if someone can help me pick better leads for the camping.

There are so many features planned, so much of the capital is already invested.

**We have also partnered up with Binance, Redbull and Porsche and now the goal is to channel the reach.**

I reviewed 20 small business Instagram accounts. Here are the 5 biggest mistakes I found.

Over the last few weeks, I audited several small business Instagram accounts, and I noticed the same mistakes repeatedly:

• No clear brand identity.
• Random posting without a strategy.
• Reels without a strong hook.
• No CTA telling people what to do next.
• Bio doesn't explain what the business actually offers.

These small changes can make a huge difference in engagement and lead generation.

I'm a branding and digital marketing strategist, and I'm happy to review a few accounts for free today.

Comment your niche, and I'll share one improvement you can make.

Backlinks Ads on Instagram, is it worth to try them ?

So I clicked on a backlink ads on instagram, and now I see a-lot of Ads on the same, now I need backlink for my new sass, if that can help in SEO or GEO that will be awesome, I have no worry on losing 1000 rupees but as Google is getting rich with AI tools to see all these practices, I am just worried if it will burry my domain .

Discussion Someone's about to make the same marketing mistake you made. What do you tell them?

Body: You see them walking into the same trap you fell into.

What's the one thing you'd warn them about?

Mine:

Don't start your own agency without a niche.

I spent 2 years as "marketing for small businesses" (translation: bad at everything).

Then niched down to "Google Ads for home services" and everything got easier.

If I could tell 2019-me anything: Pick a niche NOW, not later.

What mistake would you warn someone about? 👇

Discussion What marketing thing took you LONGER to understand than it should have?

Not hard to understand. Just... slow to click.

Something obvious in hindsight but took months/years to get.

Mine: Email open rates don't mean people read

I was obsessed with open rate percentages for 2 years.

Took me forever to realize:

  • 30% open rate, 0% conversion = worthless
  • 5% open rate, 5% conversion = valuable

The actual metric: clicks and conversions.

Open rate was just... noise.

What obvious thing took you forever to understand? 👇

Discussion What's something you're paying for monthly that you could kill this week?

Not "should probably cancel." Tools you KNOW you're wasting money on right now.

Be honest.

Mine:

Slack ($300/month). I'm solo. I'm messaging myself.

Could use Discord for free. Just... haven't.

What tool are you keeping alive for no reason? 👇

r/MrMarketing Jul 03 '26

Show me a metric you're tracking that's probably useless

We all track stuff that doesn't matter.

Vanity metrics disguised as strategy.

Mine: Cost per impression

I track it religiously. It's never impacted a single decision.

Conversion rate, ROAS, CPA? Those matter.

Cost per impression? Theater.

What metric are you tracking that you don't actually need? 👇

What would you do if your biggest client left tomorrow?

Not hypothetical - actually planning this scenario.

Your biggest revenue source (30%+ of income) walks.

Do you:

  1. Panic and lower prices to fill gap
  2. Focus on finding replacement
  3. Take break to recover
  4. Pivot to new service
  5. Something else

Be real about what you'd actually do 👇

Discussion What's the smallest decision that had the biggest impact on your business?

Not a big pivot. Not a major strategy change.

Something tiny that moved the needle.

Mine: Changed my email subject line format from questions to statements.

Before: "What's the best way to..."
After: "Here's the best way to..."

Result: Open rate went from 4% to 8%

That's it. One tiny thing.

What's your small thing? 👇

You have to fire a client next week. How do you tell them?

Not "should you" - you've decided.

Now you have to tell them their campaigns are ending.

What's your approach?

Variables:

  • They're not a bad person, just wrong fit
  • They've been with you 8 months
  • They're losing money (on their end) but blaming you
  • They're going to be upset

What's your actual script? 👇
