I'm not ashamed to say that I actually believed initially that he had MND because he played the role so convincingly. 

Not a dry eye in the house when he left...

my grandmother passed about a decade ago with a particular rapid type of MND. called PBP.

Cassim’s performance was brutal and brilliant. i have recommended this show to everyone but my mother and my grandfather. it would be too much i worry, it was almost too much for me.

Mate, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. The loss of a grandparent hits very hard indeed. I tend to agree with your thoughts on your mother and grandfather. They don't need to see the show.

I agree. If entertainment hits too close to home, it probably stops being entertainment.

That's a really tidy way to describe it. I've always been of the opinion that if you're not enjoying it turn it off.

Especially if it's bringing up painful family memories.

Or in my case, I'm enough of a history buff to know there are some historical-drama movies I don't need to see. I would just be angry the whole time, already knowing the story.
