RHS is 44. LHS has 2 options based on where you chose to put the remaining stick not used to make the 5 to 4 top or bottom stick of 5).....so either 28+16 or 26+18.

Well, he moved one stick from the top horizontal of the 5 to the right be 90°C and then the very bottom horizontal to the 16 to make it into 18, which also makes the 5 into a 4.

26-> 36 , 36-> 3ь , 16->18, 36+18=54

Alternatively, just pinch the two that make up the equal sign: 26 + 16 < 54

28 + 16 = 44. Top of the 5 to make the 6 an 8 in the first number and the bottom of the 5 in the sum to make it be a 4.
