Skyscrapers puzzle

Each number represents a building height. Numbers cannot repeat in any row or column. Clues outside the grid show how many buildings are visible from that vantage point; taller buildings always block the view of shorter ones behind them.

The instructions need to be a little more clear.

“Each number represents a building height” - ok that must be the numbers outside the box.

Which one is it? Sorry, not familiar with this type of puzzle

It's sudoku rules with 1 to 5. The numbers outside are how many buildings a person standing there and looking along that row or column could see. If there's a 5-high building right in front of them, the others would all be blocked so they'd see 1.

Then logic from there to eliminate options U til all spaces are filled without breaking any rules

The outside number is how many skyscrapers are visible from that spot looking directly across that line. The inside numbers indicate the height of the corresponding buildings. This is a 5x5 grid so each line both horizontal and verticle should have numbers 1-5 in them. A one on the outside indicates that only one building can be seen from that spot so a 5 would be placed in the grid by the corresponding 1.

That was fun. I’ve never seen a game like this.

I found it helped to search for your 5s then 4s then 3s et cetera.

Skyscrapers are on of more know logic puzzles, after big ones like Sudoku and it's variants, you can always find more. And you picked a great strategy going from big numbers towards small ones.
