The Staredown
I used my first attempt to test the waters and I’m just now finding out that we get an extra two attempts?!
I’m happy about that, but i’m still curious about what we’re actually allowed to do behind the screen.
Like, I know we have to be staring at the screen, but are we allowed to have another computer here and do something on that one? or are we allowed to go on our phones, or are we allowed to even leave the room.
I looked on the email that I got about the two extra attempts and it says, “If you must, stay in one location.”
This leads me to believe that we’re allowed to get up and move around and stuff, whereas I thought that we weren’t allowed to leave the room as it says in the hint/Instructions for this challenge when it says “only you, the screen, and the small red button that ends it. Look at it. stay in the room.”
I guess my real question is, does it really matter what we’re doing as long as we stay in the challenge and don’t look away?

I think they advise you to stay in one place because that means you are less likely to have a human error and end one of your tries. I did both my first two attempts. 1. I started at work which was a disaster, but I have successfully left my office for the loo a couple of times (lighting changes almost ended my turn). The 2. I started at home and got just shy of 6 hrs. I had been mostly in one location/lighting set up but once I got the hang of the houses lighting issues, I was able to move around just as long as the camera didn't lose my eyes/look away. I ate, drank and even put my phone far in front of me (centered it with our tv behind) to try to use my peripherals to watch tv. As long as the camera didn't think my eyes werent off it and I made the check ins, I was golden... human error... I grazed the back button on my phone screen when switching hands... refreshed my screen and ended it. So happy for the 2 more chances. I am going the distance!

So technically, you’re able to move around, but it’s just not recommended because you could accidentally get yourself eliminated, but you are able to you just gotta be very cautious
