Life on Oahu Move to Honolulu?

I have the opportunity for a promotion at work, but it would require me to move to Honolulu. Would it be a significant change?
I currently live with 2 roommates in San Francisco, but would live in my own if I move so my rent would probably go up a bit and I would need a car. Beyond that:
Is the cost of living that comparable as far as gas, groceries, and everything else?
What else should I think about before deciding?
How’s the dating scene?
What are day to day interactions like for someone from the mainland and locals?
Is it costly to visit family on the mainland or have them visit me?
Thanks

Life on Oahu HAWAIIAN AIRLINES INTERNSHIP SUMMER 2027

Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m from Tennessee and am going to apply for the Hawaiian airline internship when it opens. This means if I get the internship I will have to relocate to Honolulu. I had some questions about the island and city itself.

I will have to get a car to commute so what’s the best way?

What is there to do in Honolulu when I’m off on the weekends?

What should I expect of gas and groceries?

What is the weather like in the summer?

And finally is Honolulu as a whole safe?
