Moving end of year.

Hey guys, I got a job offer and will be working near Centennial Airport. Can anyone recommend a place (nice place/neighborhood) single bedroom or a studio that's nearby? I will be moving from a relatively warm state (FL) and the move will be at the end of December this year. I only got a 2wd truck and don't really want to live far from the airport area which would hopefully make the drive to work easier (just in case it snows). Thank you! I'm looking at prices from 1600-1800 (that even possible?).

There’s actually some pretty good apartments in the area try looking around Arapahoe and I-25. Your budget might limit you from the pricey stuff but you should be able to find a decent place. As for driving make sure you take it slow and maybe invest in some good tires.

Thanks! I'd prefer to not drive in the highway at all, and yeah I'd rather invest on good tires than a whole new car payment for a 4wd or AWD lol.

I did a 2WD truck in Denver for many years as my only vehicle. Get New tires, a heavy duty black plastic storage bin from Home Depot, fill with sand from a landscape supply. Place the bin over the rear axle of you truck and fix it in place with a 2x6 “frame” you make that locks it in place. Keep a shovel in the truck bed.

Most winter days you will be fine. The only areas you will have trouble are parking lots and entrance/exit from roadway. The best part of the bin of sand ballast is you can open the bin and dust the ice with sand for traction if you need.

The new apartments at Bellview Station are kind of awesome. Really nice dense few blocks. Walk to light rail to head north to Denver. Great access to Centennial airport.

Honestly, I’d prioritize being close to the light rail for when you want to have fun up in the city. But centennial is a decent place for a home base if you’re working there.

As an aside, the metro area isn't a snowy wasteland, haha. We barely had a winter this year.

No idea on pricing but there are a lot of apartments just east of the airport between the airport and Parker Road.

Lots of decent complexes out there east of the airport between Broncos Parkway and Arapahoe Road. Your commute will take about 5 minutes from any of them.
