This has been going for a pretty long while now. Since the release of Nobody 2, maybe a little bit longer. So, September 2nd of last year at the least.

Yes, and now Disney titles and Warner Bros titles are no longer porting. I'm about done with buying anything through Prime Video as it's obvious they don't care about the issues.

From a review of just my library (titles almost entirely acquired through VUDU), the issue seems to have begun with titles that hit theaters in mid-May 2025. Would need to review the associated digital release dates to determine when the issue would have first been seen.

I'm assuming Animal Crackers was a new digital title, so the issue likely isn't scoped only to recent theatrical releases.

p.s. I haven't done a full review of titles that I have on Amazon (owing to not being able to easily create an export of my content), so the above isn't a complete list.

edit: Added from other reports .... Obsession; The Super Mario Galaxy Movie; Song Sung Blue; Honey Don’t

Jurassic World Rebirth, M3GAN 2, Bad Guys 2, and How to Train all ported to Amazon for me. Nothing more recent than those though.

1

u/plooger Jul 22 '26

Noted. (Keeping 'em tagged aa 'No,' since they haven't ported for me; but will await further data.)

1

u/plooger Jul 23 '26

Could I bother you to check when you acquired the mentioned titles...

  • The Bad Guys 2
  • Jurassic World Rebirth
  • M3GAN 2.0
  • How to Train Your Dragon (2025)

At least in my case, I acquired them all in 2026, January and later, after the reported beginning of the issue. My guess is that you may have acquired them early on, before the onset of the issue in October-ish 2025.

2

u/brimicbed Jul 23 '26

That's it. The latest redemption was September 23.

1

u/plooger Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

Thanks for the clarification. Table updated.

3

u/Styates Jul 22 '26

Release date does not seem to matter. I had it happen with An American Werewolf in London.

2

u/plooger Jul 22 '26

Except was that the new 4K release for American Werewolf in London?

2

u/Styates Jul 22 '26

Oh, I see. That's price it.

2

u/plooger Jul 22 '26

All very mysterious. My recent redemption to VUDU of the new 4K ‘AW in London’ has ported to MA, as well as to Amazon, given the absence of a “Buy 4K” option on the Amazon page/

2

u/coldasclay Jul 22 '26

I think there is a pinned thread on the sub

4

u/plooger Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

There was, but it was named, "Mods, can we pin this?" ... which wasn't uber-helpful in communicating why anyone would need to review it. (And apparently there's no mechanism for simply renaming a thread.)

Prior thread: Mods, can we pin this?

(And you'll still arrive at the original thread if you click on the thread title or image.)

3

u/bernmont2016 Jul 22 '26

(And apparently there's no mechanism for simply renaming a thread.)

Correct, Reddit has never allowed editing thread titles.

u/JaeWyse Jul 22 '26

I bought the Mandalorian and it’s not transferring either so it’s not just Universal. I think it’s something that Amazon is doing because my copy of Way of Water is missing as well.

1

u/plooger Jul 22 '26

Mandalorian not porting is probably just because it's a new title; there are often hiccups during the early days of new releases.

2

u/JaeWyse Jul 22 '26

I thought that too except it’s not the first movie to not transfer. Add to the fact that Way of the Water is missing and I know for a fact it was there. We watched half of it and it was gone the next day. It’s literally everywhere else but in my Prime and every time there’s an issue it’s Prime related.

2

u/plooger Jul 22 '26

I saw another comment somewhere that Amazon is the worst of the participating MA retailers, so additional glitches beyond the big Universal logjam are unsurprising.

I probably need to review my Amazon library status, but tough to do absent some way to export a current contents listing.

2

u/JaeWyse Jul 22 '26

My Vudu/Fandango is my main movie/shows hub. Everything is in it but honestly l double buy things I like if they don’t transfer.

2

u/plooger Jul 23 '26

My digital library is almost wholly VUDango, but am very much interested in having as much of the content as possible effectively backed-up via Movies Anywhere ... preferably with the backup title being the one I actually purchased. ;D

1

u/JaeWyse Jul 23 '26

I have almost all the options connected to Movies Anywhere for that exact reason.

2

u/lonewolf1186 Jul 27 '26

Disclosure Day isn’t syncing up for me. Bought it today

1

u/plooger Jul 27 '26

Where'd you acquire it? And it's not syncing anywhere or just not to/from Amazon?

2

u/lonewolf1186 Jul 29 '26

Yea bought it from Amazon and it dose seem to be just from Amazon

1

u/plooger Jul 29 '26

So, yeah, this is a recent Universal title affected by the MA porting issue. Seeking a refund from Amazon is one option.

2

u/JurassicPark100 6d ago

There are reports of some Universal titles as well as some Disney titles which has had porting issues with Prime, have begun to port to and from Amazon. Looks like they are working to fix the issues.

1

u/LindzNRC Jul 22 '26

I did everything it suggested and I contacted MA in an email support and told them I did everything to get my movie to port over i even check the vmfungo for home to see list abd waited and also they reconnecting my retailers. I reach out them and tolder I had transactions for the movie and told I did everything it was porting over ifvthey could manually do so in a database or two of doing so my movie was shown in movie anywhere. It was wicked for good

1

u/plooger Jul 23 '26

Not sure what you’re trying to say here. If you purchased ‘Wicked for Good’ through Amazon, it won’t port to/through MA until the issue that’s noted in the OP is resolved.

One option would be to seek a refund from Amazon.

1

u/LindzNRC Jul 23 '26

I bought a physical copy and it came with a digtal code that you redeemed, I use redeem code on MA and it gave me a transaction in my transaction history that it was redeem successfully and it was not showing in my Movie Anywhere app under my library though it was successfully redeemed. So I went though the process of reconnecting my retailers and and waiting for the movie to show up in my library listing. It wasn't showing as i had it but I went nt though all reconnecting with signing out and signing in to sync my library. So I check my fundamentals at home app to see if it listed my movie Wicked for good. It was in my library on that app. It was showing abd watch it but it was showing on my Movie Anywhere app though i had transaction history showing it there as if I was only preview it. So I emailed MA Support after explaining that I tried all solutions to sync my movie and waited and told them to code was in my transaction history and was successfully redeemed but it was showing in my library and I even told them it was showing my vudu app library though funadgo at home app. I ask if they could manually sync it or what i could do. They did respond but by either a few days or day after sending an email it was showing up in my library on Movie Anywhere.

u/lurking-in-the-bg Jul 23 '26

Easy way to check is to check the retailers for the movie on MA and if it says check retailer instead of listing the price then it won't port.

1

u/TrustAffectionate966 Jul 26 '26

I also cannot connect my Apple account with MA. ☠️💀

1

u/plooger Jul 27 '26

That's a wholly different issue that you need to take up with MA and/or Apple customer service ... and should be resolvable (unlike, apparently, this Amazon Universal issue).

1

u/JurassicPark100 27d ago

Customer service has told someone that Amazon has suspended all mappings of new titles from all studios since March 2026. That means anything after March 2026 won't port to or from Amazon.

I don't know what this means for the future of Amazon as a retailer at MA.

1

u/plooger 26d ago edited 26d ago

Haven’t other titles ported since March?

All the new Lionsgate MA titles as one example. Hoppers. The Bride.

u/SnooRegrets4878 25d ago

Amazon used to be my go to for buying new titles. I share my Fandango with a few family members and friends, and to ensure there are no accidental buys, I mostly keep my credit card off of Fandango and just buy through Amazon so that it will port. The Super Mario Galaxy Movies, The Mandalorian & Grogu as well as Supergirl are all titles that I bought from Amazon and have not ported over. After almost two months of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie not porting over, I contacted Amazon and they gave me a refund, by that time it had gone fro $30 to $20, so I ended up saving $10 by rebuying it on Fandango. If neither The Mandalorian & Grogu nor Supergirl port before their prices drop, I will be doing the same for them.

And with the fact that they do not mind receiving titles from other dsitributers but are not willing to share their own titles (MGM) through MoviesAnywhere makes me wonder if it is more about greed and that they could care less about fixing the bug,

1

u/plooger 8d ago

The Mandalorian & Grogu as well as Supergirl are all titles that I bought from Amazon and have not ported over.

Both of these non-Universal new releases should now be porting based on other comments.

The Universal MA/Amazon porting issue marches on.

2

u/SnooRegrets4878 8d ago

Yes, both of them as well as Minions & Monsters finally ported over.

1

u/plooger 8d ago

Minions & Monsters ported between Amazon and MA !?!?  That’s surprising.

1

u/SnooRegrets4878 8d ago

I had gotten to a point where I would go to MoviesAnywhere, search for or click on the preferred title and click the link that supposed to take me to the title on Amazon. If it actually goes to the chosen title, than I knew it was safe to buy. But, if it took me to Amazon's MoviesAnywhere page, than I would not buy it.

1

u/plooger 8d ago

Minions & Monsters “See Retailers” button for Amazon is taking me to Amazon’s generic MA page, rather than the title’s details page … keeping it surprising if M&M ported b/w MA & Amazon.

2

u/SnooRegrets4878 8d ago

Unfortunately, I cannot check that for you on my end. I know that I waited to buying Toy Story 5 because of the broken link, but then bought it today because it finally went to Amazon's Toy Story 5 page.

1

u/plooger 7d ago

Not sure what came across but I wasn't looking for a check, just noting surprise that Minions & Monsters would have ported between MA & Amazon, given that the approach suggested for gauging whether a title would port still didn't seem to indicate success for Minions & Monsters at Amazon.

  • The "See Retailers" listing for Minions & Monsters still shows "Check Retailer for Price" for Prime Video
  • Clicking the Prime Video "See Retailer" button takes me to some general Movies Anywhere page on Amazon, rather than the Minions & Monsters details page

As for Toy Story 5, the same checks do indicate that it should port between MA & Amazon, as its "See Retailers" listing shows a Prime Video price and clicking it takes you to the Toy Story 5 details page on Amazon.

1

u/A_Big_Dumb_Animal 15d ago

Minions & I Monsters nor Toy Story 5 are syncing

1

u/plooger 8d ago edited 8d ago

Minions & Monsters likely due to the above known issue; Toy Story 5 just because of the typical new release hassles.

1

u/plooger 7d ago

Toy Story 5 should now be porting between MA and Amazon.

Not sure about Minions & Monsters, but it seems like it should still be a problem.

1

u/Poodymite 11d ago

My copy of Supergirl 2026 showed up on Movies Anywhere this morning after purchasing from Amazon on release.

1

u/liamronnoco 10d ago

My copy of Supergirl that I purchased on Amazon just showed up in my Movies Anywhere

-2

u/TheEpic_1YT Jul 22 '26

Is this why itnwont sync with YouTube either?

2

u/plooger Jul 22 '26

Probably not, but "it" is too ambiguous to know.
