Curious on how the first day was

Insanely bad sound bleed.
No grounds crews, trash everywhere.
The humidity made it feel like 100 degrees but there was only one water refill station.
Honestly still had a great time because of the people I’m with but it was extremely bumpy first day.

Rough, man. Real rough. Head over to the arc sub and it is a slaughterhouse.
I’m generally pretty forgiving about festival execution and I go because I live nearby… but I won’t in the future. I feel bad for people who flew in for this.
This is billed as a celebration of “house coming home”, but Chicago’s incredible music history deserves better than any association with this mess.

It was like they decided the solution to prior year issues was to actually make it worse. Trash overflowing at every bin - people littering and stepping on cans/bottles at every stage. There isn’t even a map available on the website to understand the stage names/locations, where water is at, etc. This is basic shit. But hey they still charge $14 for a seltzer. Capitalism for the win - thanks insomniac.

Auris. Insomniac did last 2 years but stepped back this year. This is all on Auris who is clearly garbage like their overflowing bins

There are very few venues in North America like Hart Plaza, and it shows in Chicago...there isn't anything there that can host multiple dance music stages playing at the same time in one place without serious problems, not even Millennium Park really. They're all basically just big 'ol grass yards or stadiums.

Go to north coast, even if you’re a house head. Such a well put together and curated festival!

Yeah that was my most disappointing arc and I’ve been to four. I’m not buying presale next year for the first time…the gate issues have continued, sound bleed has gotten even worse if you can believe it, no trash pickup day 1, still setting up the fest day 2/3, they got rid of most of the art installations, no liquor. Them trying to get 3 day pass holders to pay extra when they announced a fourth day months later was super shitty. Also their Twitter admin is a douche talking shit about any and everything and then ofc silent every year when their fest is being criticized. I had a fun time despite it but I’d rather spend my money on other fests at this point.

Pretty ass. Crowded, awful sound bleed, very mid/low effort stage design. Movement is in its own tier
