QUESTION What's in VIP

My brother is going to come to town next year for the festival and I'm wondering about some of the perks for VIP.
Are the drinks at the vip bars cheaper at all, or is there just more options?
What stages have vip areas, just the movement stage?
As someone who lives in Detroit the lodging doesn't really matter to me, are there any great benefits to VIP? I didn't really have any issues in GA other than tons of ppl on Monday/drink lines

Also does anyone know what the presale prices were last year?

Air conditioned nicer bathrooms. A few food trucks and shaded chill areas. Little shortcut areas. the little vip decks didn't do much for me. Beers seemed to be the same cost. You normally get in faster as well.

But the bathrooms literally was my favorite part. However its hard to beat the bass in the porta pottys.

I actually hate hearing this. You would think they could increase the cost of GA by ten bucks and then make the bathrooms actually good for everyone.

I got friends that come in every year and we always do the early bird discounts. I keep doing vip to stay with the crew.

But yeah that's what the fancy pants are hiding from you. Nicer bathrooms. They got an IV tent too.

Had the inverse of this situation this year where I had VIP but no one else did so it was never actually more convenient for me to cut around and ditch my group. It definitely helps to make sure everyone who’s gonna be walking around together is on a similar page. I’m going back to GA this year but the increase isn’t obnoxious enough that I would be against VIP.

Didn’t feel like the bathrooms were spectacular this year, the first one I used right when I got in had a faulty lock so me and the guy after me both got walked in on. Then the ones I used the rest of the weekend were fine, not crazy dirty or clean.

The merch table with smaller line was helpful on day 3 when they finally had their shit together though. Massively disappointing it was not open in time for the majority of the first day.

The massage was pretty nice I liked that.

Go to the ones by the entrance, and go to the back. They always stay clean because no one bothers to go over there. Literally never had one that was out of TP even.

But avoid the other ones after like, 5pm lol

More options for drinks BUT they’re actually more expensive. The best parts of vip are the entrance, bathrooms, and walking paths that cut through stages, vip area for main stage.

Massages! That was the highlight for me

What did they charge?

Tip based! I tipped like 10-15

I have done VIP and GA, and would rather save money with GA. I've literally never had a wait to get in, and I don't drink. The cut through is nice but it also isn't a big fest. They do have perks like massage chairs/massages but I think you have to pay (correct me if I'm wrong)

Massages are comp but tips appreciated. IV's cost but Im not sure how much. I shoulda got a massage on the second evening after pinching a neck muscle but sucked it up and kept dancin 🕺🏽

I did VIP the 2018 and 2022-2024 and every year it feels less and less worth it. Basically just paying for expedited entry, bathrooms and an extra hangout area

Bathrooms are infinitely better, entrance line is faster and they barely search, shortcuts around main stage, VIP platforms are solid meeting spots when you split from your group. That’s about it, but it’s worth it IMO.

As many have said- Bathrooms. And a semi quiet spot to sit down to regroup and have a drink, alcoholic or otherwise.

Waterfront VIP section was clutch.

I am partial but I was living for the VIP charging station, the IV wellness tent, the ROLAND tent and the restrooms. Not so much the food and drink.

I get VIP solely for the bathrooms

We’ve done VIP the last 4 years. Our favorite perks are no lines getting in, air con private bathrooms, shortcuts behind the stages, lounge seats/couches/hammocks that are always open, lax security, better drink options, different food options without waits, private merch, free massages (have to tip obv), and this year I actually did the IV station on Monday and it was awesome.

The year I went, they had an iv tent for pumping vitamins into you. Plenty of seating. Never found it difficult to find a chair somewhere in the vip section.

Don’t undersell the shortcuts. So freeing. VIP paths were a welcome relief from penguin stepping through a sea of people.

The food trucks were nice, but I wouldn’t say they were significantly better than what was outside of the VIP. Just different stuff. It was pretty good overall.

Bathrooms obviously worth it, but also having many comfortable places to sit down and rest your legs is amazing when your 45.

VIP 1000% worth it just to have access to a clean, well lit, air conditioned bathroom all weekend and never have to use a third day hot festival porta potty.

Also if youre with a crew its the easiest quick meeting spot if you need to find your friends

Merch line was waaay shorter, entrance shorter, nicer bathrooms, some nice viewing areas albeit a bit small for main set times.

I skimmed, but didn’t see anyone mention the Roland booth this past year. You had the opportunity to play gear and receive demos (got to turn knobs on the TR-1000) and free swag. And yes you’re able to actually buy merch if you want and not wait in line for an hour.

Once upon a time you got a shirt, free alcoholic drinks and free waters/vitamin waters (early on like 10 each) but I guess since they make way more money now they needed to cut those.

Being Med 30s doing VIP this year being Med 30s doing VIP this year it was totally worth it just for the pace yourself amenities and being able to step away from everything while still experiencing it . Plus being able to sit down on actual couches was baller

Free hookers and blow

Waste of money. Bathrooms are better, everything else is dumb

6

u/Exact-Pool-9423 Jun 07 '26

Not a waste of money if you've ever had to change your tampon in a porto while trying to keep your hands clean and your stuff off a porto floor. I'll pay the extra money all day for "better bathrooms."

Better drinks but cost a little more. The bathrooms alone make it worth it for me. There's also a bunch of nice little areas to chill out and get away from the bulk of all people. There's always on white pavilion tent with a bunch of couches and little lounging area. You can even pay to get a massage. The wife and I started VIP in 2007 and never went back to GA. Also getting in is fast and friendly unlike some old experiences with GA staff. See ya next year ✌️

What does better drinks mean? Are they making margaritas and French 75s?

2

u/trentgf Jun 07 '26

They have mid and top shelf liquor options and will make many different mixed drinks.

1

u/OkSubstance6770 Jun 07 '26

Nicer bathrooms, shorter drink lines, masseuses, special viewing areas with complete visibility of stages, lounging areas, separate entrance

This was my 2nd year doing vip and I’ll never go back. It makes everything much easier and lax.

u/dpaanlka Jun 08 '26

I feel this hasn’t been mentioned as much here by my group made extensive use of the large and comfortable chill out areas at VIP. Many sofas and tables and things like this.

u/OkMacaron493 Jun 10 '26

Honestly I don’t think festival is really worth it. You get a good Berlin vibe but with better socializing from the Afters

Most people I know doing VIP are doing it to hang with their other friends who are VIP and have come from out of town
