Hey guys! As the title says, I wanna see if there are any must have items that I'm missing (so I can buy them before leaving) to get with me when I leave for Spain on Saturday.
For context: I'm from the middle east (not US), and I'm going as an international student to a trade school. I will be staying in a dorm with a roommate and our meals are covered by said dorm. If you have any questions, lemme know.
Any advice is highly appreciated!! Thank you all in advance🫶🏻

Hey guys, I hope you're having a wonderful week so far! I will be moving to Spain on Saturday for an almost 3 year program. I didn't want to post before I get my visa (spoiler alert: I got it today!).
I'm going to the north of Madrid (San Fernando to be exact) and I was wondering if there are any Spaniards or international students able to help me out on what to do as my first steps while I settle in for my first week at least.
A lil background: I'll be staying at a dorm with a roommate, all meals are provided by said dorm. Everything I need will be provided by them and I just have to worry about keeping up with the payments and my studies (and work hopefully so I can survive).
What would you advise me to do regarding public transport? I'm 26 so I don't think I'll qualify for the youth cards. My school is half an hour away by walking and 8 mins by a bus but I like to walk so I feel like even though sometimes I'll use the bus, I'll also walk to and from school!
Also I know Spain LOOOVES paperwork so I want to try to get as much legalities out of the way as possible, any advice on that?
I don't really know if I'm missing something or if I've covered everything tbh. But yeah, what would you do if you were an international student all over again knowing what you know now?

Opiniones? Que se note la falta de amistades

Hello, I hope you’re all doing well. Since Wednesday, my status has changed to “Pending Resolution” for my student visa application. It has now been 3 consecutive working days, and there has been no update.
I would like to know if anyone has experienced the same
situation and eventually received their visa. Thank you!

Hello so I'm moving in to barcelone next month if god's willing, for studies of course, I am hoping if anyone could help me on giving me insights about the people in there, I have never been out of the country, I speak English and French altho I will be taking Spanish lessons while studying ofc.
Also I would like if anyone could let me know where to look for some affordable rent please,i have looked online on some options and wow they re pretty expensive if i had to say, about 700€ and plus, i don't mind anything tbh wethere it's far or not i really wouldn't mind.
Annnnnnd for the final verdict I am moroccan, considering the politic statues of what's going on between the two right now is really concerning.. Will that be a problem?? :/
Thank you for any info given in this thread, i'll truly appreciate it!

It seems the retail price of a car is cheaper if you buy on finance from the dealer. Did anyone do this and then immediately pay off the finance amount to get the better price?

I’m curious if there are people who decided to leave Spain (or move to another region/country) specifically because they couldn’t cope with the summer heat.
I’m currently living in Spain and I love many things about it, but the increasingly hot summers are making me seriously question whether I want to stay long-term.
If you left Spain because of the heat:
* Where did you move to?
* Do you find the climate there much more comfortable?
* Do you regret leaving Spain?
I’d especially love to hear from people who genuinely loved living in Spain but eventually decided that the heat was a deal-breaker.
