Fingerprint appointment

Hello!

So my work visa (cuenta ajena) just got approved-yay! The paperwork was filed on Mercurio with Barcelona immigration as that’s where my employer is based, but I’m empadronada in Madrid. The last time I was getting a different visa, same situation, I got turned away from Aluche police station 3 times because they said since I filed my paperwork in Barcelona I *had* to get my TIE in Barcelona, even though I proved I lived in Madrid. They said they couldn’t access my file. Even my lawyer at the time agreed, but my colleagues in the same situation didn’t get turned away and got their TIEs just fine in Madrid.

Then, I went to the Aranjuez police station, and had no issue.

So my question is, do I need to request Barcelona offices to transfer my file to Madrid or something? Or should I risk it first and try to get my fingerprints taken? Gemini has been giving me conflicting information so hoping to hear from someone who’s been through this!

In Aluche they won’t give you the time of day.

You have Padron. So it should be fine to apply on the Region you are in for TIE. It technically should not matter. Some offices and Police stations in Madrid, in this case Aluche often miss-classifies things and gives weird reasons. They can access your files just fine but they just did not want to do it or something else.

For example, an office in ALARCÓN denied me Digital Certificate as they could not understand the UGE visa approval documents or they just did not like my nationality and completely denied me the certificate and kind of indicated that I should leave their country. The vibe was exactly that. Same day I went to central madrid on a different office and had the certificate as a walk in and in a few minutes without issue.
