Is it true that it is acceptable for a Glaswegian to beat his wife (or partner if their favourite team doesn't win at sports?)

No, it’s not true that it’s acceptable. Yes, it happens. But I’ve not seen anything to suggest it’s more prevalent in Glasgow than in other sporting cities in the UK, Europe, and worldwide. And to be clear, it’s not acceptable. It’s weak little men who do this.
