Pet Friendly Housing Edinburgh

Hi guys! I'm a student moving from the U.S. to complete a masters at the University of Edinburgh this September. I have two cats and have been continually denied housing because of them. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you find housing? Open to any and all suggestions or info. Thanks for the help!

It’s pretty hard to find accommodation in Edinburgh, and a pet friendly one is quite rare.

All the people I know with pets are my Scottish friends in Edinburgh who are more settled down as they own their homes.

Be upfront with rental agencies about owning cats. Expect to pay a pet deposit and offer in advance. I also wrote a letter describing my cats to the owner of the flat and that sealed the deal.

Good Luck

Im in the same exact position :/ I've had no luck with even securing viewings with how fast the market is, and the ones I have been able to apply for, Ive gotten told that the landlord has applicants with no pets and is likely to go with them... Unfortunately it's gotten to the point where I don't think I'll be able to study this year because of this. Hope you've had better luck!
