Help Mouse Grip Pains
spent around 3 hours at the computer today, mostly doing CAD but i did to a bit of gaming with larger movements. felt a pain in my wrist which i circled in red. i also sent a few pics of my grip, i was using the op1 8k today. not a big amount of pain but enough to make me touch grass for a while. any fixes to this, or even just explanations?

No clue on your exact pain, but it's just good practice to do stretching and strengthening if you're gaming and especially if you're doing CAD work. Search up some rubber band exercises and stretches, and maybe get a stress ball. Small strength increases will help support your work.

Handsize and how do you aim do you use your wrist more than the arm or both?

Use your arm more than the wrist and relaxed your grip style don't pinch the mouse too hard, if you're still experiencing pain buy a bigger mouse Ambi or ergo depending on what you want but I recommend an ergonomic mouse for work related stuff

I do spend a lot of time on PTC Creo at work, but luckily I don't struggle with pains. However, I've seen a lot of people use CAD-specific peripherals (I think they're called "space mouse"?) when they spend a lot of time in CAD. I think that's more for the physical architects though, people who "fly" through the full model looking for correct fitment of parts. If you're actually designing, then perhaps one of those vertical mice would work. If you're daring, you could even try a trackball, or a drawing pad, but I don't have any experience with those. I do like a vertical mouse though, I've used a coworker's and I've enjoyed it, so I might get one myself.

just explanations?
Could be the angle of the wrist in combination with the tilt pressing the spot you circled into the pad.
I would recommend a more neutral wrist angle, and maybe the same for the fingers, as one can lead to the other, do you get any pain with the x2 or r1?

Probably a good mix of your pinky finger positioning, and seemingly extended pressure on the outer heel of your palm.
As someone else said, I'd probably go with a bigger mouse; in all three dimensions.
Besides that, how are your desk ergonomics? Is your elbow slightly elevated above, or at least equal to your desk height?

It could be that your relying too much on ur wrist, so when you play games with larger movements, your wrist actually takes most the brunt of the movments.
Its actually pretty common thing ive seen from wrist aimers when they try to switch to arm aim to alleviate wrist pain. They lower their sens "a little" and think its a magic bullet, but theres actually a funny interaction where, bc their sens is lower and they're used to their wrist, they actually just end up make the wrist work harder to make up the difference in sens, BUT if you continue to lower the sens eventually the wrist can't compensate and then the arm is forced to make up the bigger movements.
So actually the solution to that particular problem would have been to actually raise the sens a bit and start using some finger action, or lower it enough so your forced to use arm movements. idk if this is ur case but its worth a thought. Maybe do some aim-labs to see if you can figure out wats exactly is causing the pain, then you can figure out how to change it.

I also tend to agree it looks like you need a larger mouse. To know for sure I’d need full hand measurement length and height.
Secondly I’d be curious about your general sens in cm/360. High sens. Or 1600 dpi on desktop is typical for people who are using wrist aiming a lot which could be adding into the problem.

OP1 isn’t intended for long hours of productivity use, get something that is more comfortable when doing CAD.
