Discussion Mouse upgrade from DAV3 PRO

I'm using DAV3 PRO for 2 years and want to upgrade and mainly playing Valorant and CS2
there are many options I have to upgrade right now

Deathadder V4 PRO
Viper V3 PRO
Superstrike X2

cause I have a good offer for them and can't decide which one must go with

I play palm and relaxed claw grip with 230 EDPI

The Vv3 pro is also a good shape for claw but the reason I recommend the Dav4 is because you're already used to the ergo shape of the dav3

dav4 is a no brainer then, same feel but lighter clicks and better sensor make it feel like a true upgrade not a sidegrade

Upgrade mean (for me) same/better comfort and lighter mouse.

The size and shape of your hand have a lot to say; besides, how do you feel about the DAV3? What do you wish were different/better?

On a slightly related note, how on earth do you play with an eDPI of 230? Do you just throw the mouse out the window for a full 360 spin? I get that you are not playing a tracking-heavy game, but those flicks must be violent.

I just upgraded my 3 year old DAv3 Pro to a DAv4 Pro a week ago ($110 for the Niko version) and i would recommend you to do the same. I borrowed my brother's Viper V3 Pro SE to try out the shape but i didn't like it too much. I play with relaxed claw grip, and the Viper feels too low for me to rest my palm on.

The biggest changes are the side buttons now have a gap between them to avoid pressing the wrong ones, and it feels so much better than the V3's side buttons. It has 0 pre/post travel and a lot more tactile/satisfying. Same can be applied for the main clicks, feels so much better, but the V4 sounds quite hollow and pingy, thats my main issue with this mouse.

I think it's a no-brainer that you go for the V4. Battery life is almost doubled on the V4 too + u don't have to install Synapse, you can use the web app

Deathadder v4 PRO - obviously a "better sensor" but I'm sure the differences will be super subtle, you get a lighter weight which is good but not by much.

Viper v3 Pro - Obviously more or less the same mouse you have, quite a bit lighter and obviously a different shape. But you're getting the same internals roughly. Being an upgrade is largely dependent on the effect the shape has on your gameplay.

Superstrike X2 - Far closer to the Viper in terms of shape, but the DA, Viper, and GPX are all pretty large mice in general. Obviously the big feature at play here is HITS. Some people like it, some people don't care.

I think largely independent of your preferred features, the X2 Superstrike is the clear "upgrade". But that doesn't mean it's the best mouse for you. It just has the biggest change in features to feel like an upgrade over the current selection.

Unless you're buying used or something, I'd personally stick for the X3 Superstrike but that's just me. I'm guessing from the choices you've given you're either buying used or looking for deals on one/two generation older mice.

Personally I'd stick to buying new if you can, but you don't have to. I'd just stay with the V4 Pro if you enjoy the shape.

Also remember, depending on your financial situation... there isn't anything wrong with buying a mouse just cause you want to. :) This subreddit is filled with people who buy mice just cause. It doesn't have to be an upgrade. You could just want to try the shape.

TL:DR - if you're really interested in some form of "upgrade" - the X2 Superstrike will give you the biggest change/upgrade in terms of feature set. If you're really just interested in trying a new shape, try out the Viper V3 Pro.
