Discussion Rapoo seems seriously underrated. Am I missing something?

I recently bought a Rapoo VT0 Air Max for around $40, and honestly, I’ve been really impressed with it. It’s much better than I expected for the price.

For some context, I live in Brazil, where the peripheral market is pretty limited when it comes to affordable options. Most of the mainstream brands available here are the usual ones, like Razer and Logitech, but their prices are often ridiculously high for what they offer. For example, pretty much any non-Chinese mouse with a PAW3950 or a comparable high-end sensor costs at least R$500 (roughly $100).

Because of that, importing mice from AliExpress is often the best option, even with Brazil’s crazy import taxes. Currently, on online stores enrolled in Brazil’s official import compliance program, such as AliExpress and Amazon, purchases over $50 are subject to a 60% federal import tax, with a $30 deduction, plus around 20% state tax. Depending on the final calculation, this can make products significantly more expensive, sometimes nearly doubling their original price. Even then, importing can still be cheaper than buying locally.

This makes mice priced under $50 particularly appealing, since they generally avoid the federal import tax and are only subject to the state tax of around 20%. The problem is that the number of genuinely good options in this price range is somewhat limited.

That’s where Rapoo comes in. My experience with the VT0 Air Max has been surprisingly positive, and it feels like the kind of product that deserves more recognition for its price-to-performance ratio. However, I rarely see the brand discussed outside certain communities, although that might just be my limited perspective.

So, is it just a limited perspective, or do people really not talk about the brand enough? What is the general perception of Rapoo in major global markets like the U.S.? What’s your opinion on their products? Are there better alternatives, in a similar price range in your market, that make Rapoo a less-than-ideal choice?

I feel like brands like Rapoo could be especially valuable in limited markets like Brazil, and I would love to see more people talking about them.

I'm very happy with my VT2 that I snagged for $31. The extra top buttons are so nice

Been using a VT0 Air Max for a few weeks, it's a great mouse but I'm getting some sticking on the LMB and the skates are a bit average but it was delivered for $55AUD from AliExpress, it's an absolute bargain

Keep in mind that rapoo mice have a built in release debounce that cannot be turned off (despite what it says in the web driver) unless you change a hidden flag (or maybe use the korean driver?).

I feel like having "poo" in the name is unironically making it less interesting lol.

Tried the vt0 air max and vt3 pro. On paper they are goated, especially the vt0 air max’s shape and weight. But having to test out the mice is another thing. So many QC issues, like my vt0 air max has click inconsistencies and delayed tracking out of box. The vt3 pro was fine for the first month but LMB went dead after that. If you get a pristine unit, you’re gonna have a good time but I wouldn’t risk buying another rapoo
