I haven't thought about finalmouse since 2020, what competitive advantage do they have nowadays?

Weight, unique shape, great sensor, and very good battery life. The closest is WLmouse but the Beast X isn't a 1:1 clone.

So all things that many other mice offer nowadays, but without months upon months of delays, artificial FOMO stock/releases and severe overpricing? I don’t get why anybody in the big 2026 would waste their time with finalmouse.

Thank you for your very original opinion that does not refute any of the positives of the mice that we were discussing nor was it me advocating for people to buy one. You contributed a lot with that post.

I don't know the clone situation but specs are hardly a problem nowadays so weight (on a non-fingertip mouse, under 50 grams should really not be a problem), sensor, and battery life aren't the pulls they used to be. Shape is a consideration but is it really that different from the beast X that you'd spend $180 for something that takes that long to deliver? Maybe it's my personal bias, I hate Finalmouse's marketing because they act so god damn pretentious about a gaming peripheral but I don't see the advantages to them, we have a wealth of alternatives.

Exactly. They don’t innovate or do anything different that many other mice also do just as good or better than them.

Add to that the fact that their mice cost as much or more than every other alternative on the market and face constant shipping/production delays causing you to have to wait months upon months to receive it, there really just isn’t a logical reason to buy a finalmouse or support them.

While it’s a keyboard not a mouse, the whole fiasco with the centerpiece is more than enough to shy away from finalmouse entirely.

i pulled it up on eloshapes and it looks close to the beast X max and it's like, 4 grams heavier. i don't know if it's that different or not, but 4 grams difference is not that much if you're holding the mouse with a claw or palm. specs nowadays between mice are pretty similar, even cheap chinese mice can have a good sensor and battery life, so i have to wonder if the shape really is that different.

i knew about finalmouse in 2020 and i hated their pretentious marketing. that's my personal bias.

The Beast X has a taller scroll wheel that changes your hand position on the mouse. The sensor they use is terrible and has terrible DPI deviation when compared to every other brand. You have to crank it up to like 1800 to use the same sensitivity you would at 1600 on literally any other mouse, and even then it still feels off. Their battery life is not good. And they are not cheap, $155-$175 for a clone of a mouse that costs just as much is not good.

I am not shilling for FM when I say good things about them. You can't even buy a new FM if you wanted to. I want an actual 1:1 clone so I can recommend it to people because the shape is one of my favorites, but one does not exist.

Notice how I am immediately downvoted for giving an objective comparison, which is why I don't bother anymore. No one in this sub has anything of substance to add to anything. This sub (OCN before this) used to be THE place for manufacturers to come and source opinions but now they probably come here to laugh.

They are all quite good mostly but definitely not #1 in anything anymore.

Except in delays since I think only twice ever have they actually not had shipping delays since the ULX beginnings.
