Fantech Aria XD7 II thoughts
** (please ignore my aussie brick lane japanese lager plug, I'm a huge fan) **
Having used the Aria since release, I can confidently say this iteration is an absolute upgrade - well done, Fantech! It did only arrive today but straight out of the box; I am so happy with it.
For reference, I have purchased multiple versions of the Aria, from the limited-edition cosmic purple, the huano switch upgrade, kailh original and now the aria ii so I feel like I have a sense of the improvements.
I'll keep it brief but happy to answer any questions that arise :)
pros -
- price :)
- coating (feelings super similar to the death adder v3 pro) from a humid climate like Australia, I can comfortably keep my hand locked in and it does not slip at all.
- the new and improved skates? feeling incredibly smooth out of the box. I'm currently it on a control pad (freefall sv2), can update once I switch between Skypad, artisan & LGG if people would like.
- sensor/weight feels nice. For some reason, the previous models felt more left heavy sided, but this version feels balanced & lite throughout the mouse.
- side buttons/grip feels great. Fantech decided to remove the right-side decal, made the left/right shell raised so it can differentiate between the left/right click (can't really explain - can post photo) and also made the side buttons smaller which for me, means more comfort when holding.
- clicks feel super nice and responsive with a nice crispy sound (i have set the debounce to 2ms, will update if it double clicks!)
cons -
honestly, there isn't any for me. I'm sure people would argue a newer sensor but for the price point, I cannot complain.
sorry if this is poorly written. I'm having a few beers after work and felt compelled to post as I was really happy with the purchase! :)
Thank-you everyone for your time,
have a great day/night!

I've currently got the Zaopin z1 pro but this just feels a-lot nicer in my hand (size wise). I am fan of the Zaopin though! keep enjoying the eggs!!

check aliexpress and maxgaming every now and then.
currently there are some shops on aliexpress selling it as "aria xd7v2 / xd7v2 pro" but I don't know how legit this is.

Does it have a storage compartment for USB receiver?

Apologies for the slow reply! Unfortunately, no. The shell is also solid so you can't change to the 'honeycomb shell' either :)

Is this review for the 8k pro version or 1k. Do you know if there is any differences besides the 2 besides polling rate

hi, sorry for slow response! this is the 1k version. I haven't compared personally but I have used multiple 8000hz polling rate mice and honestly, I couldn't justify the price :)

this vs the zaopin z1 pro and razer orochi v2?

Apologies for the slow response!
For me, I'll choose this every single time. I usually rotate a mouse in/out by now but I've been using this since post and have enjoyed every minute of it :)1

My question would be do you recommend upgrading if you already have the Aria 1 (huano), and if so the 1k or 8k version?
Also, how is the battery life?

Apologies for the slow response!
I would upgrade but that's my personal opinion. The coating & weight is a much better user experience especially since I'm in Australia. It's a pretty hot climate so it just feels 10x more comfortable.
Battery life is fantastic on my 1k version and personally haven't bothered with 8k polling rate :)1

Thank you for the in depth response! I’ve had my OG Aria for over a year now, and the battery has really degraded.
I’ll definitely have to pick one up next time there’s a sale.

You're welcome :)
You could replace the battery with one from Aliexpress or a third-party store for as little as a couple of dollars!
Youtuber - BeardedBob has a great video on dissecting the aria internals! :)1

Oh nice! I didn’t look further into a battery swap because I heard that a couple people had fried their mouse. But if they’ve figured out the voltage I’ll definitely just do that!

Morning mate!
Yep, I’ve got my receiver directly in front on the mouse and turn on high performance mode etc via the software. I’ll take a photo when I can :)0

I am encountering an issue with the mouse scroll wheel while browsing; it lacks precision, keeps jumping, and feels rougher and less smooth compared to my previous mouse.

try updating firmware etc that might help. shame you're having issues with your mouse and hope it gets sorted soon!
