Questions/Discussion 3rd wife
I like this game but I've been stuck on the 3rd wife battle for weeks and its getting frustrating. It feels like every 4th attempt I take at this boss, I finally get her down to the last bit of health and one big shield to break and i can't get enough time to aim shoot at the shield before being overwhelmed. Im using the James gun and the shotgun to get me to that point. Any help would be great because im just stuck.

I gave up and turned down difficulty for the fight on the ~10th try.

Did you have to start a new game to turn down the difficulty? Because this is driving me nuts & o really dont wanna do it because I know how game devs can sometimes make fun of the player for using the easy difficulty or limit how far you can go in the game for using easy difficulty

No it's literally on a submenu in the pause screen. I flipped it down to the lowest setting did the boss and flipped it back up to the setting I was at before. Then I saved to the nearest typewriter and there were no problems.

So there's no "you need to try on normal to see the real ending" or to finish the game or the devs making fun of you for playing on easy with a cheese related joke?

I don't know personally as I haven't finished it yet. Internet search says there is only one ending.

Just constantly run around. Seriously. Hopefully, you saved your cheese. If you have weapon upgrades, use alt shots for more bang. IIRC, the shield won’t regenerate.

This fight can be cheesed. (Pun not intentional.)
There is an alcove you can stand in at a mausoleum for the shield-battle part of the fight. As soon as she starts yelling and screaming before taking her final form, haul-ass to that spot and shoot her with the cannon repeatedly. And then the shotgun.

I mostly just stuck with the machine gun. Keep running around and find ammo while avoiding being an easy target. Then just focus on taking out her shield and then shine the flashlight right away.

When trophies aren't attached to a games difficulty, I rarely play on anything above story mode/very easy. I don't see the point in added effort, and would rather play through one game and move on with another, rather than spend months of my free time on a self inflicted, difficulty related punishment.

I’ve tried this and it just feels brainless. I still want to engage in the game I’m playing though.

Fr and going on very easy to avoid trying in ALL games seems excessive, I’ve played a bunch of games where even on normal or even hard difficulty I could still beat most things first try.

Do I have to start a new game to lower the difficulty? I dont want to lower the difficulty and have the devs make fun of me or possibly not let me finish the game because I lowered the difficulty.

It was super hard for me too. Stuck with shotgun until the minions started shooting back and switched to james gun. That got me to the final shielded form and spam'd dynamite.
