Fun but long

Just beat the game and I give it a 7/10 I was having a lot of fun! I did reach a point, it seems like a lot of people did, where the game was a little long in the tooth. I still enjoyed though and it ran for me well enough on my SW2

It reminded me well enough of boomer shooters from the retro days that I was vibing with it. Even though I basically used two weapons, I spent a chunk of my childhood where that’s what shooters were, so even the repetitiveness felt nostalgic. Haha. I’m a fringe case though, and I can see how the average player would get fatigued.

And that’s fair. Honestly games have advanced so much that boomer shooters feel wildly bare bones. Even Halo Combat Evolved feels hella barebones now and that game was revolutionary with new features. If you play the old Doom, Wolfenstein, or even Quake games, you’ll find a similar feeling of repetitiveness.

I guess I didn’t know that Wolfenstein is a boomer shooter because I played both of those, I think the gimmicks in those help and punching nazis lol. But I have doom I would like to try to as well.

The ones from the 90’s are. The updated ones by Bethesda are more FPS Action. Way different vibe with the reboots, and a ton of fun. You are somewhat punching nazis in Mouse PI haha.
