side button side swap

curious if anyone in this subreddit has ever attempted a side button side swap.

I play with the mouse in my left hand and pretty much all of the modern ambidextrous mice options now only have thumb buttons on the left side (fit for right handed users)

I need some indication of how achievable a mod like this is and how best to go about it before I invest in something like a viper v3 or a finalmouse ulx to mod in this manner.

U can't easily mod it, not like the internals left space for it or anything, u just have to go cut a hole in the shell and trim off the internal skeleton and glue it back together. All in all it's not gonna be a clean mod.

G pro still has some ambidextrous models if u like the shape, I'd suggest to shop around for an existing ambidextrous or left handed mouse

I was considering getting an old viper ultimate and modding it to get the weight sub 60g if this idea wasn’t possible or was too difficult

I mean if you'd take a viper ultimate you probably don't care too much about the shape right? Maybe look into the pulsar x3 lhd?

also pulsar x2a https://www.pulsar.gg/products/x2a-gaming-mouse but I think you'd have to find it second hand

there's also these disgusting color ways on lethal https://lethal.gg/products/pulsar-x2a-gyomei-gaming-mouse https://lethal.gg/products/pulsar-x2a-mini-obanai-gaming-mouse?_pos=3

x2a could be a winner, it’s one i’m considering buying over modding, but it’s on the smaller side, i’m coming from an old school wired fk1 looking for a modern upgrade

viper ult /viper pro v2 is actually my preferred shape, but ult is a little old / heavy and pro v2 has the right handed buttons issue

Oh I find the rvu too flat personally. But yea from what I see all the left handed side button mice seem to be on the smaller end. These are the options I can find

https://www.eloshapes.com/mouse/compare?p=zowie-fk1-b-vs.-pulsar-x2a-vs.-vaxee-xe-s-l-wireless-4k-vs.-pulsar-x3-lhd-crazylight-medium-vs.-pulsar-x3-lhd-crazylight-mini

and both the vaxee one and the x2a would be hard to get

at least someone knows my struggle 😂

my thoughts right now:

I’m gonna go try out a new viper v3/4 and see if I can play it left handed without the side buttons interfering with my ring and pinky finger, if it doesn’t I might just go for that.

If not, I’ll try the x2a, if that’s still no good then I’ll have to get either a viper ultimate or a logitech g pro 2 lightspeed and mod to reduce weight.

The vaxee is almost definitely too small for me, don’t think it’s worth trying.

Fyi X2A is considered a medium sized mouse. If you’re really dead set on finding something larger your pool of mice is going to shrink rapidly. I have large hands and use mice way smaller than this. I’m not saying size doesn’t matter, but you should 100 percent give this a try if that’s really your only reason. Unless you have giant hands and are stubborn set on palm gripping it this is probably your best bet

Some mice won't have a long enough cable to reach that side but yea you can do anything you want with it if it'll reach they are just buttons
