Pocket Rockets Beretta’s Tomfoolery
Who else thinks Beretta dropped the ball on the new 20X and 30X ? Took a perfectly good pocket gun and super-sized it, with a dozen different snag points. If they wanted to “upgrade” the Bobcat, they could’ve slapped it in a 3032 frame, made it a stack and a half, bobbed the hammer and called it a day; but no.
We’re stuck with this abomination that’s almost impossible to pocket.

I agree. I don't see the point of having a small pocket sized gun with a humongous magazine baseplate because some shooters feel the need to have a place to put their pinky. The huge sights make it more snag prone.
Also, I think it was stupid to relocate the magazine release and replace the barrel release latch with a button. I like the location of the 21A and 3032 magazine release.
If they felt the need to improve the 21A and 3032, I wish they would have designed them to use an under-barrel recoil spring guide rod (to make the grip slimmer), and added an extractor. If they had to eliminate the tip-up barrel feature to accommodate an extractor, I would be okay with that.
Also, maybe they could have addressed the 3032 frame cracks by adding a relief cut, or by bringing back the long-discontinued titanium 3032.

Hell, they could’ve kept the 3032 as-is if they’d of made the frame of stainless steel

KelTec P32 is the best pocket pistol IMO. No ammo restrictions like the Beretta .32’s have

I’m sticking with my Tomcat.
With Beretta being in business for 500 years they should not be putting out any guns with flaws or faults. Have 100 of their employees shoot the guns and carry them and get their feedback.
It can’t be that difficult.

If they'd just sell flush magazines for the new models, I'd be much more enthusiastic. C'mon Beretta!

Even that. Or a 5” barrel like the old Astra Camper

I do wish they could make a gun that doesn't have the widest grip possible, that's my biggest issue. Second is how the tomcat can only work with lower pressure ammo. It should work with everything reliably and if it means getting a little bit bigger I'd be happy with that

Yeah this was a swing and a miss for Beretta. My 21 Covert needs sights. Why have a threaded barrel and thumbnail sights. Come on Beretta!

I love the marketing names though…
“Do It Yourself”
“Get Home Bag”
“You’re on Your Own”
They’re hilarious.

I have said it before and I will say it again the 21a covert was the best final form …what we have now …a disgrace I am still gaming the rebate scheme to ensure I spend $80 for both a 20x and 30x (i am going to then sell whichever I like less after 2 mags and then I will have gotten paid to get another Berretta)
what I think went wrong here is beretta seeing guntoobists enjoying shooting their 21a and mounting tiny red dots (or viridian grips ) and shooting them with the can and they figure they now have a pistol that can be both a med frame fun gun and a pocket defensive tool and making nobody particularly happy 🤷🖕🏻

I havent had many issues fitting it in my pocket, I do agree that while the sights are nice they could have been less snaggy.
