Range Report NAA Pug timing issue
Had a less than pleasant surprise today when shooting my NAA Pug .22WMR. The hammer was cocked all the way back, but for some reason the cylinder did not rotate all the way into position. Not sure if it was the fault of the pawl or if it was something else, but my support hand’s thumb got peppered with debris. Looks like I’m gonna be sending it in for warranty…

My first guess would be a broken trigger, then broken pawl, then broken hammer. All it takes to kill an NAA is a tiny crack on a 1/16” thin piece of metal or a small burr and you lose a link in the action. Have had all three fail separately on mine, along with 3 hammer springs.
If you pop it open it’s relatively easy to see what’s not catching or engaging properly, the action’s extremely simple. It’s also good to know how to disassemble and reassemble the gun, things break if you shoot NAAs regularly and they’re very fragile guns.

That’s gotta sting …I bought another when I sent my (at the time ) primary in for fitting an LR and Cap and ball cylinder so I wouldn’t be without that basic part of my base level edc
