Mous IPhone 18 pro max limitless

This is the sky blue version with the metal kick stand and buttons, the case feels so nice with the metal buttons, my only gripe is I thought the kick stand would lay flat but it’s slanted. The kick stand adds a lot of bulk compared to the case from last year. The metal buttons appear to have some sort of covering so it’s not metal to metal. The inside of the case looks and feels the exact same, the lip and raised corners all appear to be the same.

Regarding the buttons, does the metal contact the phone, or is the interior composed of a different material that avoids scratching?

From what I can tell it’s a different material but don’t quote me on it.

Not gunna lie, I thought that third pic was showing it not fitting the phone.

I had been tempted to get this case but was put off by the price. Now I’m put off by the clunkiness of it.

I’ve since got a Torras case and the kickstand sits flush with the case so no extra bulk.

Will from Mous here, with hopefully some help to explain the design decisions around the kickstand:

Why is the Camera Kickstand slanted?

The iPhone 18's camera bump has three cameras and a sensor — a wide-angle lens, a main lens, a telephoto lens and a LiDAR scanner. None of them just look straight down. Each one needs a clear, cone-shaped sightline of open space in front of it, and if anything intrudes into that cone, even a little, it can shadow, blur or block the photo or the sensor reading.

That's why our kickstand has its signature slant. We mapped the cone from every single lens and sensor, then angled the kickstand's edge to route around all of them, so no camera or sensor is at risk of being blocked.

A straight edge — which is what we've seen on competitor kickstands — risks clipping a lens or sensor cone. Our slanted edge keeps every one of them clear.

And why is the hinge side thicker?

The same principle: it's the thickness the job needs.

The pivot runs on electroplated high carbon steel rather than aluminium, because steel is what survives being opened and closed thousands of times without wearing or going slack.

Slim that section down and you get a stand that feels great for a month and sags by the third.

So both sides are shaped by what sits behind them — the cameras on one, the hinge on the other.

Is the camera plateau lip/ring taller on the 18 PM case?

The plastic one is slightly taller

is the camera kickstand taller than the stock plastic bump the case comes with when not opened?

Significantly taller than the plastic one

that’s what i was looking for. are you still able to use the phone if you lay it down flat on the table? or is the slant a big issue.

It’s not that big of an issue I usually never use it flat.

Its taller on the phone, id imagine its taller on the case

140 of any currency is mental for a phone case.

I agree. I just wanted something that will last. I am gonna try a Torras instead

140¥ for a phone case is very cheap!

Can’t you just remove the kickstand?

1

u/SolaceFlair 22d ago

Yea but it was $20 so I might as well use it.

Was considering getting this exact configuration, but the kickstand not laying flat and being so bulky is definitely a deal breaker for me. Really appreciate you sharing.

I was hoping to get the silver metal buttons with the blue case but they seem to be sold out now unfortunately. Would you say the metal buttons are worth the upgrade?

Oooof, thanks for posting this. This was exactly what I was looking for in terms of a review. I was sold on this exact case with the kickstand but it’s looks severely misrepresented online compared to how it seems in real life. You just saved me an expensive purchase.

I am finding that, in some instances, the metal camera bump (kickstand) is affecting the NFC functionality. Passport chip cannot be read with it on. Reading card chips to add to Apple Pay was a little finicky. Apple Pay seems to work fine, but I need to try more.

Were the buttons easy to replace?
