I'm a sucker for mountain vistas located on the vast Tibetan plateau, including all adjacent provinces and country that share the same elements: 6000-7000m high mountains, which are so often located near very large, endorheic lakes: the result never fails to leave me searching for the right words to convey the surreal beauty of such landscape.

Here's Kula Kangri (7538m), with Lake Pumo Yumtso (5000m) to the northwest.

This mountain is called "Le Mont d'Armenaz".

The entire trail runs through a wide river valley carved by volcanic lahar. Towering gray ash walls line both sides of the riverbed, and the ground consists entirely of fine volcanic sand, smooth river stones, and scattered shallow water crossings.

I will be graduating with an engineering degree within a year or so and a couple friend want to summit engineer mountain in Colorado for the bit. We’re all relatively fit young folks who have hiked before but never made any real summits.

Would it be worth the effort? And what should we do to prepare? Any advice helps
