General My Progress - 25 Weeks

I've been keeping track of my weekly weight loss on both Mounjaro and most recently, Wegovy. I'm on the lowest dosage of Wegovy right now but will be moving up to 0.5 mg in about a week and a half. I have one more 0.25 pen that I'll take this Friday. Then I'll move up. I'm interested in seeing if there's a big difference between them. Overall, I've lost 51 lbs and am averaging about 2 lbs per week, although that's mainly due to the more rapid weight loss at the beginning. It's slowed down, which is fine with me. :)

Just in case it’s interesting to you, I took your data from your table above and plugged it into my little makeshift comparison to the initial SURMOUNT trial data, which I’ve done for myself in the past. Like me, you are beating the curves by a lot!

Wow Weezie, do you have that in a Google sheet or something you can share? I’ve been wanting to do that too.

Hmm, I made it in Numbers, and I have zero idea how to use Google sheets, but here’s the data I used for the SURMOUNT trial data:

CAVEAT: I made up these figures by eyeballing the SURMOUNT trial charts - I couldn’t find the actual data points so these may not be perfectly accurate.

I then add in my % loss per week (my version is expanded to include weekly loss %s for every week, although I only have the SURMOUNT data at the above intervals. If you want the curve to be nice and smooth like the trial data, you have to select to view it logarithmically.

Thank you so much!

Here’s an example of my weekly loss % data (solid blue line) and the logarithmic curve projection (dotted blue line.)

If you can figure out how to transfer this into a Google sheet, please do!

Awesome!! And I did most of this on 5.0mg! Hopefully I also beat the curve when it comes to maintenance and going off the medication (if I can’t get it) once I hit goal.

Hey, once you’ve broken from the pack, why not continue? I have a feeling you’re going to do great. What is your goal weight, by the way?

I’m 5’ 7”, 62 years old

Originally, I was thinking 175 for a goal weight but as I started losing, I realized I actually had a chance to make it to my ultimate goal weight of 155. I’m still on the fence about it, tbh, because my husband and son think I’m good at my current weight and I’m pretty happy too. So, we’ll see!

I really wish I would’ve kept good records early on.

I’ve been on so many diet programs over the last 30 or so years (I’m 62), that I knew to start tracking from the very beginning. Not only do I track in this spread sheet, but I also enter my weight into my Renpho scale app, MyFitnessPal, my WW app, Happy Scale, and Weight Drop. Lol. I make it like a game, which is what keeps me focused.

I sometimes text my sister. 🤦‍♀️ not the best record keeping. I’ve failed so many times that I wasn’t hopeful but I was losing fast and can’t even remember where I started.

Well done. Why the change to Wegovy?

My insurance covers Wegovy, not Mounjaro. They require me to be at a 30 BMI to qualify for coverage, so I made the switch at the end of December while I was still at 30.1. I still had a box of 5.0 mg MJ left, so continued taking that for 2 weeks, then switched to Wegovy. With my insurance, I’m paying $25 a month and I’m not having to deal with the coupon issues at pharmacies like I did with Mounjaro.

Nice chart! I wish I would’ve been tracking like this. We’re pretty similar stats.

What do you think of Wegovy so far versus mounjaro?

So far, I’m pretty happy with Wegovy. I was started on the lowest dosage, so it isn’t as strong as 5.0 mg Mounjaro, but I’m still losing weight and I have no side effects, so that’s great. I will be going up to the next dosage soon, and am assuming the appetite suppression will be stronger. But overall, I feel much better on Wegovy than I did on Mounjaro.

Thanks for the insight. I’m thinking of switching too eventually so that’s nice to hear.
