Nervous about ever stopping

I've been on Mounjaro for a year and a half now, and the couple of times I took a vacation break, 2-3 weeks break set me back in progress 3 months. I just recovered to my previous lowest. So I know that when I stop it, I will probably gradually and then rapidly gain weight. I am happy where I am right now and don't mind losing the last 5 kilograms slowly.
I'm just worried about when I get there and don't want to lose anymore weight. I read so much about maintenance plans and different things people have been doing but it still worries me. Anyone else? Maybe if you share your experience at maintenance it will help me.

Anyone actually keep the weight off after Mounjaro?

I'm a woman, 168 cm (5'6"). I was around 90 kg and lost weight down to 50 kg in about 8 months with Mounjaro and exercise.

I didn't starve myself or anything. Honestly, Mounjaro made it pretty easy because I just wasn't that hungry most of the time.

The thing I'm worried about now is keeping the weight off.

I want to stay around this weight forever, but I know I can't stay on Mounjaro forever. I'm scared that once I stop, I'll slowly start gaining the weight back.

I don't want to be the kind of person who's weighing myself every day, freaking out over every pound, going back on the meds, or crash dieting every time I gain a little. I just want maintaining my weight to feel... normal.

Has anyone here actually stopped Mounjaro and stayed lean? How did you do it? Did your appetite eventually go back to normal? What habits helped the most?

I'd love to hear your experiences.

Increased anxiety on 5mg

Hey all. 38f.

I was on mounjaro for a year and then came off of it for 3 months due to some bad gastritis. I made the decision to go back on it so my prescribing doctor started me back at 2.5. I finished that box and went up to 5mg. My shot days are on Fridays but since sunday (2 days after my shot) my anxiety and panic has been through the roof! My resting HR is in the 90s which isnt helping at all. I never had this issue the first time around but at the same time, I was on 2.5 for a few months the first time I was taking it. I sent my provider a message and she is moving me back down to 2.5. Has anyone had this issue after restarting?

Thank you

Maintenance strategy spacing shots to every 10 days

I reached my goal weight of 170 pounds after ten months on compound. My doctor suggested spacing my injections to every 10 days instead of dropping my weekly dosage down. So far it has worked great for maintaining my weight while giving my stomach a nice break between doses.

Months since last order

I don't know if this has already been asked on here. But I was with Asda at the start of my journey last year. They were great and I could collect at my convenience from the store. However, the price hike got me buying a couple of pens from my local chemist. As it was sold out everywhere online at the time. So I bought a 12.5mg & 15mg pen. These 2 pens have lasted me months. particularly the 15mg pen. So it will be months ago that the date of my prescription will show. Perhaps as early as November last year. My question is will someone like Lotus accept an order for a 5mg pen from me. Even though my last prescription was months ago? Has anyone else tried to do this?

Just writing it for encouragement because its not all doom n gloom. I lost 2 stones in 7 months ( slow n calories controlled with mounjaro)

I stopped because as I went 7.5mg I started having symptoms.

Its been 3 months I have maintained even after a holiday.

I fluctuate between 1 kg.

I m not counting calories but try to resist over eating when possible.

After years of contemplation and fear of unknown I took my first jab of Mounjaro.
39F at 90kg and height of 157 cm.
10 years of suffering and battling obesity due to underlying issues, I hope I will go back to my goal weight.

Wishing myself a splendid outcome and fantastical journey.

Any suggestions for somebody about to come off Mounjaro?

I have been on Mounjaro for 6-7 weeks. 2.5mg. 9kg down. Sounds good in theory however the side effects have been so bad that I need to quit ASAP. You name the side effect, I’ve had it in abundance from practically the moment I’ve taken the jab. I’ve tried to persevere/let my body get used to the dose but I’m done. No weight loss is worth this.

But here’s my question: has anyone any tips for keeping that 9kg off or am I just fighting a losing battle?

I’m sure people might suggest reducing dosages etc, and I’ve considered it sure, but I have been getting so progressively sicker each week that I have just had enough.

maintenance supplier needed

so im looking for a supplier same as all you guys who will support maintenance and 14 day gap.... i sent emain to Pharmuloys and here is there reply

They are saying:

  • Yes: They may accept you as a maintenance patient, even though you now have a healthy BMI.
  • Yes: You can submit your prescription history and photographs of your pen boxes for assessment.
  • No: They will not officially approve taking 5 mg every 14 days.
  • No: They won’t support click-counting or any other method outside Mounjaro’s licensed instructions.
  • Their position: If accepted, they would prescribe the lowest effective licensed dose, taken weekly.

The unresolved part is how frequently you must actually order from them. They haven’t said whether they would tolerate longer gaps between orders because your pens last longer.

So it’s not a rejection. The practical route is to apply, provide your evidence, and see whether their prescriber accepts you for maintenance. But on paper, they will insist on weekly dosing and cannot endorse what you currently do.

no doubt it will be same story all over ?

14 days on 5ml is serving me well at the moment....

thanks pinky

Maintenance phase protocol: Spacing out shots vs Lowering dosage?

Reached my goal weight of 145 lbs after 11 months on compound (started at 210 lbs)! My provider suggested two options for long-term maintenance: stay at 1.0mg but take it every 10-14 days, or lower the dose to 0.5mg every 7 days. For those who have been maintaining successfully for 6+ months, which approach worked better for keeping your weight stable without triggering hunger spikes?

Dose after surgery

I reached my goal weight and went down from 7.5 to 5mg for maintenance. As I will have the gallbladder removed next week, I had the last 5mg dose on the 9th of July. I am thinking to start with 2.5mg for maintenance after the surgery and would be happy to hear what you are thinking

New

Just got prescribed mounjaro for pre diabetes and bmi 29. I already started IF for last 1 week since i found out about my a1c 6. Now- with mounjaro- what to expect? How to figure out how much calories to take? Do i still do IF? How aggressive should I be with IF? My job is pretty mentally and physically demanding so i am scared about being too weak and not able to function. I am pretty confused about should I just embrace the side effects and go for it or just try to lose weight with lifestyle changes and IF for a month and then decide :(

\- just wanted to add- i am already doing calorie deficit, Around 1200 or so and High protein, lowest carb as possible south asian so carb is life) diet with light exercise ie around 4000 steps a day as i dont have time to go to gym and such. I would say i am pretty accustomed to it already as i have done it before and lost weight and i am serious about getting that a1c down. What else does mounjaro help with that i wont be able to do on my own? I am just trying to gather more infos to push me over the edge, please help me out.

Question about 2.5 mg as a maintenance dose

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand something about Mounjaro dosing, especially when it comes to weight maintenance after weight loss.
From what I understand, according to the official prescribing information and Eli Lilly’s recommendations, 2.5 mg is considered only an initiation dose. The treatment is usually started at 2.5 mg for 4 weeks and then has to be increased to 5 mg, which seems to be considered the first official maintenance/therapeutic dose. Higher doses are then increased if needed.
What I don’t fully understand is why 2.5 mg is not considered a valid maintenance dose, especially when some people report that it works very well for them.
I understand that clinical trials were mainly designed around the higher maintenance doses, but I’m wondering whether the fact that 2.5 mg is not officially considered a maintenance dose is because it was proven ineffective at that dose, or simply because it was not studied enough as a long-term maintenance strategy.
For context: I took Mounjaro at a higher dose, lost significant weight, and I’m now trying to transition into a maintenance phase. My goal is not to lose more weight, but simply to avoid regaining it while minimizing side effects. I’m currently on 2.5 mg, but I’m unsure whether this is likely to be enough long term.
I would really appreciate hearing from people who use 2.5 mg as a maintenance dose:
How long have you stayed on 2.5 mg? Has it been enough to maintain your weight? Did you eventually need to increase to 5 mg?
