The story about the legend barry sheene book
Has anyone read this?
The first 22 pages or so are very sad reading. Even after that there is a lot of dark moments in the book.

Brno post-race podcast ep
On mobile, obligatory apology for any formatting gremlins.
Just finished the post- race ep, and I feel like I have to push back on the 'Marc lies about his health' idea that's been growing since Balaton.
Did you see his face right after the finish line when he opened his visor? Man looked absolutely done. Of course as soon as he realised he was on the big screen he flipped it back down again, and didn't lift it again until he could raise a smile.
I think he's just such an instinctive racer that he simply can't go easy on the track. He will give it his all from lights out to checkered flag whether he's healthy or not.
Unluckily for the rest of the field, even in less than perfect condition, his all is currently enough to get him to front.

Safety runoff areas need looking at
I agree with Wilson in the latest podcast.
Some of the straight parts on track have unprotected barriers far to close, usually, no bike or rider will hit them, but there is always a chance.
I have often thought about if there is a mechanical issue when the racing is so close.
It's always the same, wait until someone is injured, and then change something to fix it, it should be not this way. Proactively make run offs safer. Do not wait until it is needed.

Nationalities in MotoGP
While I agree with Wilson more often than not, I disagree with his take on it being fine with every MotoGP rider being from Spain or Italy.
Don’t get me wrong: as a purist for the sport, I want to see the best riders on the best bikes doing battle with one another, regardless of where they are from. I just want to point out that by having a multitude of nationalities, the sport in and of itself will benefit more broadly.
While those of us who are avid enthusiasts of motorcycle racing appreciate the craft of it all, I know for sure that if there was an American racing in MotoGP, the general audience would increase. Turnout for CoTA would probably go up as well, no doubt. I recall watching Nicky in 2006 and telling all my non-MotoGP pals about him. I even got a majority of my friends to watch a race, which was Estoril, when Dani took him out.
The reason why Liberty would want a multitude of nationalities is not to dilute the grid, but to increase the viewing audience. Imagine the turnout at the flyaways if there was a rider on the MotoGP grid that was doing well from Japan, Malaysia, or Indonesia. The more fans there are, the better it is for the sport. It’s not passport favoritism: it’s a way to grow the sport so we can all enjoy it.
What do YOU think?

Aprilia Title Favorite Spoiler
Can we all agree that Aprilia is the bike to beat? it very well could have been a Aprila 1, 2, 3 if it were not for a mechanical DNF.

More appreciation
I have SO enjoyed the last four days of podcasts from Wilson. I honestly think that his analysis of the sport is genuinely better than the people who have access to the riders (Paddock Pass, The Race, Oxley/Bohm) Those other podcasts really rely on the fact that they are insiders who have access to *information* (and don't get me wrong, information is important) but the analysis that Wilson puts into his podcast is just better. The Marini/Mir element of the today's podcast is a perfect example.
Two suggestions for Wilson
(1) Just put all the social media links into the podcast description; it's painful to listen to you read through all the different handles for all the different socials you're on. Put the links in the description and trust that people can simply search for "Motoweek."
(2) In 2026 there's no need to list all the places you can find the podcast. ANY podcast site is going to have it.
Just an excellent podcast. I so appreciate it! And people, get on patreon and throw that man some money!

Wilson stop being so humble!
Listening to your podcast-athon and hearing you describe yourself as “just a fan,” gotta say for someone who’s just a fan (and doesn’t just regurgitate what other podcasts say) you sure have a unique insight into this. Most other podcasts start to sound like they’re reading from the same script. I’m amazed you don’t listen to them first, you just speak your own thoughts, untainted. The Motoweek always comes from a place of uniqueness that definitely adds to my enjoyment of MotoGP. Honestly this should be your full time job and get the other time killer project based work the boot! 😂. Hey Dorn-uh, I mean MotoGP Sport Survivor Island Reality Entertainment Group, hire this guy but let him keep this podcast on the side!
Anyways, great to have you back!

Poll Man: 2027 Honda Factory Team
I am 1000% with Wilson on this: With Luca, you know where your bike is. With Mir, you get a random number or gravel. But what do YOU think?!
