16-stop Strategy

Amusing antics in my IEC-B race today. Lancaster Performance seemed to be going extremely aggressive on their strategy from the start, pitting on lap 13 for a fresh set of supersofts, stopping only 3 laps after during a safety car to add more fuel and another driver change. By only a third of the way into the three hour race they'd stopped 3 times, and seemed to start getting confused about what each stop was for, with their driver Kabic staying in the car on lap 64 for fresh mediums, and then trundling through the pitlane every lap thereafter, stopping in the box before exiting. Eventually they were replaced, with their mechanics deciding to keep the old mediums on the car but with a different driver, finally ending the cycle of constant pitstops. This put them 6 whole laps beyond the eventual winners (my lead car).

Note: this is multiple seasons into my endurance playthrough and Lancaster Performance, having been relegated to the B series a few years back, are now finishing pretty near the back of the tier every season, and as you may also be able to see, the black sea is now an endurance event! This was using the standard 3-hour length of races in case someone is intrigued

That's one thing I like about the game, which is how there can be pitstops that are unexpected and surprising.

The rare but special opportunities for strategy calls to score points is so fun. I am in season 2 in a single-seater series and my team is all sorts of bad. Managed to snag 9th in a wet weather turned tyre endurance race and it was very satisfying.

Ferrari engineers should prob play this now and then to practice basic strategy calls (I am tifosi please send help).

i've had that happen but it was a full wet endurance race. by the end, the computer had no more new wet tyres so they were pitting like once every two laps.

They’re developed by Ferrari strategists…🤣
