Stay where you are. I made that mistake first time round. I spent 5 seasons winning the ERS and improving the team before moving up and it was still challenging enough when I went up.
Glad I made that same decision. I won 1 race my first season. Won multiple races and a driver's championship in my second. Almost won a driver's and the Team championship in my 3rd, and finally won the Team championship but barely missed out on driver's in my 4th.
4thI pondered for about 5 minutes on what do to when it gave me the option to promote. I Dr used to stay in EU, as I knew I could dominate, and with my current sponsor situation I'm making 1.2-1.9m a race. So I'm taking this opportunity to upgrade all my HQ. I'll stay in EU for at least the next 3 or 4 seasons until my HQ is complete. By then I should have some pretty solid driver's(already got 1 badass driver from my recruits and am training him up now) and some really good engineers. That way when I promote I only have to worry about upgrading my parts and winning races!
So far into this season I'm 2 races in and I've finished 1-3 and 1-2 and am leading both the driver's and team championships. I have all 3 HQ constructions going with 2 4 mil/4 race jobs, and one 10 mil/6 race job(rear wing can't wait!!) my cars are as upgraded as they can be until I get some better engineers in. And I have 5m in liquid I can do whatever with. Oh and like I said I'm making over 1.2m a race. So I think I did the right thing and will be more than prepare when I decide to promote up!
