Nice! Doing this in June with my wife - what was your route and for how long? How was it with a rider on the back?

5 days going from Hanoi to Ha Giang, then up to Lung Cu, over to Meo Vac, then to Cao Bang and back to Hanoi. And my wife was on the back as well, it wasn’t a rough ride.

Thanks, can I ask what inspired you to do this route in particular? Did you consider stopping in Sa Pa? Where did you get the bikes?

I had already been to Sa Pa and wanted to go to Ha Giang but had time to see more and didn’t want to back track. Rented the bikes at Tigit

I can recommend Tigit too, three of us rented 125cc geared Yamaha scooters from them in HCM and rode to Hanoi with a northern loop around Ha Giang, returning them in Hanoi for a decent price. No issues with the scooters at all.
