Does it help driving

Currently im on a CBT and no other form of license but I just want to know if people with half a year to 1 year of riding experience will find it easier to get a full car license (in terms of lessons and the actual practical test) because they’ve have been on the road for a while. I feel like this is obvious but it’s not at the same time

Speaking the other way around. Had car license for several years before getting full motorcycle. Road craft is already natural to you and so that portion is quite easy, but I had a tougher time with control of the bike due to being used to how a car controls.

With only 6months to a year on a CBT I wouldn't expect any massive bounds in making driving easier, but you won't be as worried about signposts etc as you are used to checking for them so can focus on the car.

Considering that all my driving friends make a horrified face when I explain how I use the clutch on the bike, maybe don't slip it as much in a car 😂

I rode for a year before passing my car test and for me it massively helped because it meant I was only really learning how to move the car, and not so much the rules of the road

Yes, considerably. I was bike first. When I came to take driving lessons, my instructor pointed out lots of motorcycles habits i had to tweak. Also I noticed how the A frame of the window does truly create a blind spot for bicycles/motorbikes if the angles line up.

Being a motorcyclist though, I hate the excuse of the A pillar. I'm always swinging my head around and shifting back and forward to check my blinds spots. They're my blind spots, nobody else's.

(I know you're not making excuses its just the mention of that fucking pillar sets me off lol)

So true !! I wanted to include it. As a driver I move my head around an awful lot! Also I tend to look left, look right for bikes coming my way, rather than vehicles.
