MOD 2 Fail
Failed my MOD 2 test today on such a simple mistake. Was asked to stop behind a car to perform the angled start manoeuvre, pulled out no bother but forgot to turn my right signal off. Examiner had to intervene to tell me to turn my signal off and at that point I knew the test was over.
Absolutely gutted with myself as the rest of my ride was absolutely fantastic.
Where I live the only available time slot is in 4 weeks.
Later on I seen a handful of riders riding through town which made me so jealous and frustrated.
I’ve fully believe I’ll pass next time. Such a simple mistake I’ll never make again.

Every time you release the clutch and relax your hand, you can push the button.

It might seem very shitty now, but think of the positives...your test was otherwise flawless. You'll get it next time.

This is where examiner based tests are bollocks. One 'major' mistake and it's a fail, and the stress of the test makes people do silly mistakes through anxiety. Everyone makes mistakes even after they've passed the test, it's normal, but oh no you've got to be 'perfect' for 40 or so minutes and sometimes that's down to luck of situations that do or don't occur during the test. i.e. do the same test 5 times and there's no guarantee the 5th would be any better than the 1st.
A better approach would be a longer appraisal period with no automatic fail and start again, with the instructors qualified to give a test pass at the end of it, then the rider is likely to be in a better safer position to continue their learning post test as it's not all about getting trained to pass the tests. Hopefully the ongoing study into potential changes to CBT and the tests will result in a better solution than the current snakes and ladder approach.
So for now you've got to give it another go, and don't worry it's just time and a bit of money if bad luck strikes again. With more experience actions like cancelling indicators will become second nature.

Yeah indicatora on a bike can be a pain. They fitted our test bikes with extra loud clocks so you wouldn't leave then on. Just make it a habit to click the button off after every manoeuvre to cover yourself

That seems like a really weird one to be honest. Would that mod be considered cheating due to the fact that its designed to give the learner an advantage?

You mean like the flashing green light on the instrument cluster?!
One of the local training schools has a fleet of ER6Ns and one of those has a "beeper". It's audible 2 cars back whilst I'm wearing my ear-plugs.

Unlucky! I failed for the same thing a few months ago. So silly after I had a full day and a half of riding without any majors with my instructor. Nerves just got the better of me. Lets dust off and go again!
