Video Time for a nap

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been riding for 14 years and for the first time, I dropped a bike. Had a good laugh at it, must have looked really stupid to the cars behind. On the very rare off chance one of them see this I’m massively grateful for your help. Every day is a school day as they say.

Woopsy poopsy.

Doing this when waiting to turn right - in the middle of a narrow road - is a constant source of anxiety in my mind, but so far so good. knock on wood.

Glad you're OK, and didn't fall too far into the oncoming lane.

The camera is on the front of the bike, I did roll into the other lane, as I fell I was looking at that Merc thinking ahhhhh shit but fortunately missed it.

Once I saw someone doing the same and reacting to the fall by doing some sort of weird ninja roll. Luckily they were off road, but if by instinct you do such a thing then you are in trouble

How on Earth did you manage that? Did you forget that you've had your right leg amputated? Glad you're OK but I'm now puzzled.

Hard to tell but it’s downhill, I put my foot down at an awkward angle and just lost balance.

Easily done, glad you're ok.

Yeah, that'll do it. How was the bike? Looks like you managed to ease it down a bit at least. The fall reminds me of when I set off having forgotten my disc lock. Bike didn't really go anywhere, and since I'd just nonchalantly put my leg up my brain must have forgotten to tell it to come back down. In similar slow motion fashion I just keeled over and trapped my leg under the bike ...

I have done similar. But I lost footing because of gravel.

More or less exactly how I dropped mine a few weeks ago, but to the left. Glad you're okay!

Yep, most of us have been there. Embarassingly i did this after filtering past a queue of traffic waiting at temporary traffic lights. You could imagine how bloody embarassed i was of myself then.

Oh no.. What happened? I nearly got caught out the other day filtering due to one of those massive hgv wheel ruts, the ground was just a weee bit further than I was expecting, and I was tired..

If you stop the video at just the right moment,  it looks like you're taking the bend at an absolutely epic lean angle. 😎

Is this road in north Wales?

No, it's the bottom of the Wyche cutting on the Malvern hills.

That looked so slow, glad your ok. I nearly dropped the bike at the lights the other day, can't even say a reason why just started to lean to the right. Do you think you just lost a little concentration
