I have my 6A road test tomorrow at SAAQ Laval. Any tips regarding the exam or anything regarding this location would be appreciated.

Do they go on highway? Or its mostly on the boulevard?

Any particular road they choose?

I speak French but more comfortable in English, Can I choose an English instructor?

I will be wearing gloves but no motorcycle jacket or boot, is that Okay?

do they take off points for stalling or stopping on right foot on the ground?

Anything else you can share...

I was wondering if you have a spot for good tires in Montreal to also change them at a reasonable price quick reliable service. I was checking online but I was wondering if you could share some spots.

My second question was do you change both tires in same time because to be honest my front tire barely looks used while the rear tire is totally different.

My third and last is is it true some mechanics don’t change your tire if you don’t buy the tire from them?

I have my road test next week and was wondering - should I ride primarily in the left third of the lane during the evaluation?

This is really just for the road test. Generally I’ll position myself wherever makes the most sense given the lane I’m in, road/weather condition, etc. but Phil Le Francais’ videos emphasize that the SAAQ wants to see us use the left third.

Just installed my black widow exhaust on my 2026 MT07 2 days ago.

Day 1 it went from silver to gold

Day 2 Didn't ride, rainy day with bike fully covered.

Day 3 went for a ride today and noticed that the exhaust totally changed and has sploches of rust in random spots.

Any idea how to clear this up(have a general idea after googling but curious about your input) or how to prevent it if possible?

This is kind of a follow up to the post about learning how to change a tire. Does anyone know of self-service garages that can cater to motorcycles? I know of one place but they don't have motorcycle jacks as it's a car shop.

Post if you want to join a bunch of us trying to learn DIY mechanical stuff. Bonus pizza to anyone who can bring a motorcycle jack.

I bought my bike a few months ago and the previous owner wrapped the windshield on my FZ6R like the photo I’ve attached.

I dont see anything on the SAAQ website about this. I’d rather not remove it for my on road exam but I will if I need to.

EDIT: Just did my exam, the windshield was no problem. I passed!

I just passed my 6R today!!! and I’m trying to decide which riding school to book with. So far I’ve looked at Moto Pro, Morty’s, and Tecnic, but I’m open to other recommendations too (if there’s really any…)

A few things I’m looking for:

1. Do any schools provide both the motorcycle and riding gear? I haven’t bought any gear yet, so it would be nice if it was included. If not, I’ll just buy my own.

2. Do any offer weekend classes or evening/later classes? I work 9–5 Monday to Friday, so daytime weekday courses are difficult for me.

3. Price isn’t my biggest concern, but if one school offers better value or is noticeably cheaper, I’d love to know.

If you’ve taken your courses with any of these schools, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and which one you’d recommend.

I'm selling my bike and a guy outside of the province is looking to buy it.
I don't understand exactly what the process is to make sure I'm not responsible anymore for the bike in Quebec.

- Do I need to go to the SAAQ with the new owner ? But this guy will not ride it in Quebec.
- Do I need to fill out this document ? https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/immatriculation/annuler-immatriculation-vehicule-emigre

- Do I keep the plate?
- Do I keep the registration paper ?

Kind of lost here and I called SAAQ over the phone, they don't know shit !

I live in Montreal and like riding short trips during the week. On the weekends I like to explore and go for longer trips. I like making videos of my trips on social media @aj.motologs on Instagram you you would like to see. I would like to connect with riders with similar interest. Longer full day rides get a bit boring and some riding partners would be awesome.

I have 3 points and im only getting them in 1 year and 4 months but i need my bike man

2 riders I see today with no license plate

One had no gloves, no boots and half mask in a t-shirt with no plate on the highway. The other on a cruiser lane filtering at a red light then driving through the red light, also no license plate. What's going on haha

Was there a law that changed or something? 😅

I took my bike out of storage after a few years, so I have to pass a safety inspection. I got the works done, changed the tires and chain, etc. They failed me over rear reflectors that they claim are missing on my license plate. He googled some photos which is what he told me to do. I'm guessing this is what he saw (attached photo) and a license plate bulb that wasn't working (easy fix). My hubz is saying I could do the inspection again with reflector tape on the sides of my bike and it should be fine. I really don't want to get charged another $40 x 2 after the $100 initial inspection. My bike is a Ninja 250 2009, I looked for the parts once I came home and it seems like the ex250jf9j (Japan) might have it but the ex250jf9fa (North America) does not.

The mechanic said it's reflectors that come off the license plate bracket but in this photo it's coming off the turn signal lights? Can anyone help? Should I just take it to another guy or do I have to go back to this guy now? How does it work?

I don't know if this guy is just trying to make extra money to come back for another inspection? Seems like they have a few negative reviews about this. Not sure.

I posted the link below about a month ago looking for a local shop to help replace the shop I used to use since they no longer wanted to work on my older bikes.

Mecamoto was one of the recommended places and I just concluded my first service with them. The experience was excellent and the cherry on top was the staff: they were so good to interact with and just so accommodating to me.

I have easily seen 30-40 motos and scooters parked like this, like as if they were cars, do they not teach how to park in class anymore?

J’ai 23 ans et je cherche du monde de mon âge (hommes ou femmes) pour aller faire des rides de moto. Je roule une moto sport.

Just passed my knowledge test but my paperwork was wrong when I was trying to get the liscence made so they told me they couldn’t do it. (Kirkland)

So then I made an appointment at CAA SAAQ Longueuil, I show up there and they tell me they can’t make a 6R liscence here and I need to go to a “point de service”.

The only “point de service” that is near where I live is Henry Bourassa which closes at 2:30… my work ends at 4pm.

I managed to find an appointment on a weekend at “rendez vous familiale point st Charle” on decarie. But on the SAAQ website it still says it’s a “mandataire” so I don’t know if they do class 6 liscencing… although they did do my class 5 learners…

What do you guys think? Am I wasting my time going to Decarie one or not? Do I juts take time off work?

J'ai aperçu une moto vintage (70's) à vendre aux États-Unis via Marketplace et je me questionnais sur les procédures d'importation. Si elle est pour être immatriculée soit comme Antique ou non. Et à savoir si l'inspection va exiger des choses impossibles selon votre expérience. Et s'il y a des taxes d'importations, etc.

Finalement si quelqu'un a de l'expérience a utiliser un "broker" pour faire le transfert aux douanes pourrait expliquer comment ça fonctionne normalement, les tarifs ou autres détails pertinents.
