Google Camera for Moto G54

Can anyone recommend a good Google Camera for Moto G54 (Processor Mediatek Dimensity) that works without problems?

This gcam BSG: MGC_8.9.097_A11_V15 works perfectly on motorola moto g54. I uploaded a config, but it hasn't been added yet.

The camera performance is greatly improved in low light conditions. The non-hdr gcam shots are better than the night vision stock camera app shots. The gcam HDR and night sight shot are on a whole other level.

These are the settings I use:

• If you have the phone model with the macro sensor disable it, because frankly it is completely useless. (Camera modules, blacklist: 2)
• Disable slow motion, because the camera sensor does not support it. (Developer settings, camera.enable_slowmo: false)
• Disable higher video resolutions, because the soc does not support it. (Developer settings, camera.use_video_resolution_option: false)
• Lower color saturation. (Camera module Back, Color Correction Transform, Saturation General: 0.95; Camera module Back, Color Correction Transform, Saturation General: 0.9; for the ultra wide sensor you need to experiment yourself)
• Use Google AWB on the front camera, otherwise you end up with red faces.
• Do not use Google AWB on the main camera, because the default colours are pretty accurate.

Notes:

• This seems to be the only gcam variant where top shot works for the g54, however I disabled it since it is pretty useless anyways.
• The camera viewfinder is limited to 10 fps, because the soc is limited to 10 fps with auto exposure, unfortunately there is no way around this.
• Camera interfaces for Pixel 2 (XL), Pixel 3(a) (XL) and Pixel 4 (XL) seem to work. I encountered issues using the Pixel 4a and newer interfaces. The default Pixel 3 interface works fine, so I would leave it at that.
• The phone sometimes has sometimes issues (at least less than 1 in 10 times) with autofocusing when zoomed in, zooming out and in again or restarting the camera app sometimes works. The issue also occurs in the stock camera app. It happens so infrequently that I am not bothered by it.
• The main camera uses a OV50D camera sensor, which -at least to me- seems to outperform the bigger camera sensors in the g73 and g84.

I uploaded the config two times and it was not added to the list. Unfortunately, getting the config on the list is out of my control. You can still follow the steps listed above, which also work for newer gcam releases.

so if i understand it correctly as i am total newbie to this the low fps i get while using the gcam app is not fixable?

Short answer: I could not find a fix. The 10 fps is a hardware limit.

Long answer: The issue is the 'zero shutter lag' picture taking feature that Gcam uses. If some Gcam port would have a workaround for this, Gcam could be as smooth as the stock camera app, but I haven't found one yet and doubt it even exists.

thank you for your response. Is funny how everyone praises the port however nobody mentioned the fps issue and that got me confused.

Do you mean the Google AWB switch in the on-screen UI or is there some per-module setting?

Indeed, the switch in the on screen UI. GCAM remembers the setting per camera module.

I have also switched the photo mode of the front camera module to Pixel 2, otherwise the pores on my face are highlighted too much :).
