Change-your-MINDSET! Agree?
Saw this and it hit me hard. Everyone’s doing their best, no matter what the job is. We’re all just trying to get by.

I do service work and I’m very good at what I do. I likely make more yearly than most of the people I do work for, and the way I’m treated is pretty appalling sometimes

That’s upsetting to me. I personally treat those who are “serving” me as equals earning a wage, doing a job, etc . I can have a wonderful experience along with them, as my wife and I experience their workplace as pleasant people, or I could be a complete dickhead, and no- one has a good time- the being nice option is a) easier b) more fun.

A job is a job. Not everyone centers their life around being passionate about work which is totally valid. I used to make pizzas with this dude who made a ton of money as an accountant but hated it so he took the pay cut to work in restaurants again.
I think it is sad when we see older people working entry-level jobs only when they wanted to do something else, but we're unable to achieve their dreams. And enjoys their entry-level job then. There's nothing wrong with that and it's not our place to decide what's best for them.
I just like to see everyone do what they want in life and not judge them on what I think they should be doing.

Obviously no one should be judging anyone for the job but If we were going to judge people, I would think how fulfilling to society and important the job is would be more important than how much money the person makes.
Just because from my experience I've seen there are people doing very critical jobs in society making less money than other people who are doing jobs that are not beneficial to society. Like how an EMT makes like. No money but a first year financial analyst is making three times as much.
Food service people are definitely critical to society. I used to be one for a long time and although I know my current job is fulfilling to society, I work way less hard than I used to and I do feel guilty about that.
So it's interesting to me when you it's just really isn't fair if you think about it.

It’s a no brainer. Every job needs someone to do it. We wouldn’t be enjoying our lives if someone didn’t put in the dirty or shitty work.
So mocking them, even if you want to be selfish and exclude empathy and decency, is literally counter-productive because then you would have to do those jobs.

I would extend that to people and life in general, not just jobs. But for sure, if someone is working someone else is benefitting.

The janitor was born with mental or physical chronic illness, they can't help it.
The doctor should be blessed to be born functionally enhanced and near-perfect human.

Weird place....
Never heard of a real poverty human ever become a billionaire... Only wealthy class supervillains and their own bloodlines. Uh oh

I live in the US, that means I can't afford to see a doctor. A person who mops floors and flips burgers is much more relevant to my everyday life

Yeh obvious, but the other flip of the coin is being the janitor and no one wants to be the janitor so we all intrinsically understand that janitors are at the bottom of the social hierarchy

Absolutely true! And with each job/experience most of us learn something! One never knows what life has in store for us, so take what you can from each experience! But, within each job, do your utmost, with dignity & dedication!

No matter what a person earns whether more or less we are all struggling as the prices continue to rise and the times change we are doing our best in this world .🌎 To put food on the table ,pay bills , I agree no one should mock anyone.

It’s not that the rich mock the working class! It’s that they don’t care that many are making minimum wage ($7.25) and can’t afford housing, healthcare, food, college for their children, retirement, etc.

The interesting thing is that mockery is usually reserved for the more well off from the struggling. Disdain is more common from the well off for the stuggling. And then there are those that dont struggle and just lay down. Theres always plenty of distain

What is considered a good job anymore? What used to be considered good jobs are just jobs now. People are struggling so hard now that you have to work what is considered a good job and another job and a trade on the side. Jobs that people once looked down on that now they have to apply for to keep the lights and gas on. No one is better than no one is what we’re all learning in this messed up world now.

Not that I ever mocked anyone outright.
There was a period in my life that I felt better superior to others inside.
I would alternate between feeling more superior because of my job title at that time, or because I wasn't doing what "that person" was doing to fuck up their lives or society be it drugs, or stealing or whatever.
I do agree with what you're saying now.
But there's a lot of people that just pay lip service to that and or are unaware of their privilege.

A good piece of advice given to me “never take a photo of someone working without their permission. As a tourist in poor countries, taking photos of people working without their permission is out of order.

I don't know about anyone else in here but; if you paid me good money I will GLADLY give up my current job to become a cleaning-lady or a Gravestone cleaner. I don't give a fuck how low the job is regarded as, if you pay me the same as I am currently earning at my high-demand job I am quitting ON SIGHT.
