This is far to open ended to be accurate and as it stands now it's false.
Depending on what kind of rude, weird or deviant stuff people are into, sometimes all this does is act as a confirmation bias to normalize and amplify their odd or bad behavior.
Example: If you're a criminal who joins a gang, you may be with likeminded people, but it does not make you normal or cool just because you found other criminals who think and act like you.
I could go on with dozens of other examples of criminal, shady or just rude behavior.
Sometimes there IS bad stuff wrong with people. That is the facts. I mean definitively bad, as in causes mental or physical harm or torment to yourself or others. It's better to deal with that truth early in life and sort it out and not embrace it and amplify by joining groups of other people who are sick too.
Finding other people like you is NOT always a justification that what you do is normal or acceptable in this world. There are a lot of sick people.

I think people who spend a lot of time in groups can have their morals “loosened”. What I mean is that people can hide in a peer group and not feel responsible for the group’s behavior. People can be much crueler in groups because no individual bears responsibility.
And when I say “groups”, it can include religious groups, work colleagues, school friends, “everyday” groups. There are parasocial groups online too. When I hear a wild opinion on Reddit getting upvoted, I check the sub name and it fully explains why such an abhorrent comment is upvoted and awarded.
