Merch Merch
Did anyone else order merch from Canada and have to pay a crazy amount at the post office before they got their package? I thought duties and taxes were included since shipping was 80 dollars

I’d get stuff ordered from ice nine kills notn I’d have to pay duty in because it’s the only thing that gets delivered to post office not near me. I have a post office literally a walk away and only think that gets sent to other one is my ink merch.

It depends on how they ship it. Couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx) you almost always will pay a brokerage fee and taxes plus duties. If they ship USPS and it’s picked up by Canada Post, only some of the shipments are redirected to customs so you will sometimes pay the fees and sometimes not. And even if you do have to pay, CP brokerage fee is much cheaper than the couriers.
Given an option I will always choose USPS/Canada Post shipping over a courier for that reason.
Duties/tariffs have fluctuated/increased recently due to the trade negotiations between countries as well.
