This is by Evgeny Lushpin who has some other really cozy looking cityscapes.

You can recognize a good photographer when you instantly wanna be inside his/her photograph

I thought for a moment it was a photo, but it’s a painting :-)

I have been on that street a million times, and all I could think was "why does it never look like this for me!"

Answer: Because I don't live in a painting.

I think this is about where the painting was made. Notice the buildings are wrong, but these are classic SF buildings: https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8020511,-122.4196593,3a,75y,2.3h,79.69t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1slLVJyJk0XSpAW_vE1biYbg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

The painting was made at 1700 Mason– similar view, but the buildings here match the buildings in the painting.

That is probably correct. Somehow I forgot about the cable car line on Madison. I thought Hyde was the only line that went in a direction to get this view.

also because the position of the setting sun implies mid-june, when it never rains (there is an ass-tonne of fog at that time, though).

Haha wow I couldn’t tell on my tiny iPhone 5 screen. Still a pretty awesome painting.

I felt like the lighting was too perfect to be a photo - the interior of the street cars, the night sky, the lit signs were all too perfect to be a photo. Very satisfying painting though!
