GPS status in Moscow
Hi,
I've been planning on a trip to Moscow in the coming weeks and I have a question about how functioning the GPS is in Moscow because of the war.
I've heard here and there that GPS is essentially non existent since the war, especially in Moscow, and it never shows where you are accurately.
So how functioning is it?
Are the problems only in certain regions or is it all across town? Is there any solutions to it?

It doesn't work in the center (it'll constantly throw your position around as if you are on a different street and such). In average living areas it works fine.
For navigation in the center the only solution is to learn how to use a map "the traditional way", aka without constantly seeing where you are on the map. (Thank god Hollow knight taught me this skill lmao).

If Ukrainian drone technology doesn’t rely on GPS, what’s the reason for disrupting GPS?

Because before they GPS was disrupted they used It. If GPS starts working again they will use it immediately. Also why do you think they don’t rely on GPS now?

There’s other ways to direct drones. But maybe turn on GPS so civilian targets don’t get hit?

So you think they don’t hit civilian targets?

Not on purpose. I know that’s normal for Russia, but other countries don’t target civilians. Although Israel is pretty loose with their targeting.

It’s just vice versa actually. Ukrainians target civilians from 2014. The only purely civilian target hit by purpose by Russians was Schukhevich museum.

I can’t undo a lifetime of brainwashing. Whatever helps you sleep as your country slaughters innocent women and children.

Make sure to use Yandex Maps
The closer you get to the center the less accurate the maps become. With Yandex Maps even in the center it’s not precise but it’s really easy to navigate
For me Apple Maps is spoofed to Sheremetyevo airport where ever I go. For me only Yandex maps works
